Common IT devices
Examples of IT devices

What are IT devices? These are devices that uses electricity and they make the
performance of our work easy. They have element of electronics in them

The following are examples of IT devices;

1. Calculator

2. GSM phone

3. Organiser

4. Water dispenser

4. Television

5. Radio etc

GSM phone

This is a device used for receiving and sending calls, it can also be used for texting
and receiving message, it a device for reaching people that is far from us.

The full meaning of GSM is Global System for Mobile Communication

Types of GSM

These includes:-

1. Android phones

2. Landline phones

Uses of GSM

1. For making and receiving calls

2. For texting and receiving messages

3. For getting the location of people


4. For taking pictures

5. For storing information and playing games

Calculator

This is an IT device for performing mathematical problems that it is used in


solving mathematical problem.

Types of calculator are digital calculator and analogue calculator.

Uses of calculator

1. For solving mathematical problem

2. For getting formulas

3. For storing information


These are various calculator used for solving various mathematical problem.

Wrist watch

Wrist watch is another IT device use for keeping time.


There are two types of wrist watch, we have digital wristwatch and analogue wrist
watch. Digital wrist watch is an old form of wristwatch while analogue wrist watch
is a modern wrist watch

CONTENT

An electronic organizer (or electric organizer) is a small calculator-sized computer,


often with an built-in diary application and other functions such as an address
book and calendar. It normally has a small alphanumeric keypad and an LCD
screen of
one, two, or three lines. The electronic diary or organizer was invented by an
Indian businessman Satyan Pitroda in 1975.

CONTENT

Fax machine

A fax machine is a device that is used to send documents electronically over a


telephone network.

The transmissions it sends are called “faxes” and these can be between two fax
machines, or between a fax machine and computer or online fax service that is
equipped to send and receive faxes.
This is an electronic fax machine for sending documents.

CONTENT

Radio

In radio communications, a radio receiver, also known as a receiver, wireless or


simply radio is an electronic device that receives radio waves and converts the
information carried by them to a usable form. It is used with an antenna.

Uses of Radio

1. For getting information

2. For listening to news etc


These are different types of radio they all work with an antenna.

CONTENT

Television

A television receive broadcasting signals and change them into pictures and sound.

A television has an antenna for getting network and a screen for displaying events.
Just like the radio the television can be used for getting information

A television looks like a monitor.
