sister/brother helping his/her younger
sibling finish his project – leads us to a
personal appreciation of God, who is
both caring and faithful.

A Family can be true to its identity
and mission as a covenant
relationship, a domestic Church and
the basic unit of society only through
the value of filial respect. This value
is enshrined in the fourth
commandment, “Honor your father
and your mother”.

Most of us experience problems
with our families that leads us not
to give respect to our parents. Yet
the 4th commandment reminds us
of our moral obligation of
respecting them despite of many
obstacles.
