Congratulation on your placement at a U.S. institution!

To assist you through the pre-departure Orientation, we would like to ensure you have all the necessary
information to prepare for your departure and your participation in the program in the United States. In
addition to the materials provided by the resource persons during the orientation sessions, there are
several supporting materials available in these folders on some topics, please review these materials at
your convenience.

1. Fulbright Documents
The information provides Fulbright in general and also specifics about the program guidelines, health
insurance, and final report. The information is originated from the Fulbright resources.
2. Travel to U.S.
The information provides procedures and guidance on travel to U.S from the perspectives of U.S.
Immigration and Customs, and U.S visa and DS2019 for the departure.
3. Arrival in the U.S.
The information provides instructions and forms provided by IIE upon your arrival in the U.S such as
Arrival Form, Tax forms and instruction, health benefit and EFT.
4. Living in the U.S.
It is the compilation of various articles from different resources about life in the U.S obtained from non-
Fulbright resources to support the presentation materials. Please note that these articles are not the
primary materials provided by the resource persons during the Orientation.
5. Study in the U.S
It is the compilation of various articles from different resources about graduate study in the U.S. obtained
from non-Fulbright resources to support the presentation materials. Please note that these articles are not
the primary materials provided by the resource persons during the Orientation.
6. U.S. Government Publications
State Department’s Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) engages international audiences
on issues of foreign policy, society and values to help create an environment receptive to U.S. national
interests. They produced e-journals in various topics, Snapshot USA and Outline Series, among others.
7. Alumni Stories
It is the compilation of various articles from Fulbright alumni (Master’s and PhD) of different years. They
shared their experience while studying in the U.S.
We recommend you to visit your U.S. university website for more specific information on campus life,
facilities and events and other useful links. You can also visit the U.S. Embassy Jakarta website for visa
or other U.S. government websites for specific purposes such as taxes, immigration, and others.
As a Fulbright grantee, you will be given an access to the Fulbright website
(https://foreign.fulbrightonline.org/current-fulbrighters) for information related to your grant status. The
website provides comprehensive information on the administrative aspects of your student program.
Access to the website will be provided by IIE along with your Fulbright grant appointment package.
