Test 1 Module 1

1. Conjecture - an opinion or idea that is not based on definite knowledge and is formed by guessing
2. Impartial - not supporting one person or group more than another
3. Offhand - not showing much interest in somebody/something in a way that is rude or upsets
somebody
4. Mandatory - required by law
5. Circumvent - to find a way of avoiding a difficulty or a rule
6. Eclipse (v) - an occasion when the moon passes between the earth and the sun so that you cannot
see all or part of the sun for a time; an occasion when the earth passes between the moon and the
sun so that you cannot see all or part of the moon for a time
7. Fabricate - to invent false information in order to trick people
8. Exemplify - to be a typical example of something
9. Discernible - that can be recognized or understood

32. Acid - a chemical, usually a liquid, that contains hydrogen and has a pH of less than seven.
The hydrogen can be replaced by a metal to form a salt. Acids usually have a bitter sharp taste and
can often burn holes in or damage things they touch.

if it is rough, flat, etc.
