OLA Electric Technologies Pvt. Ltd. receives the First PLI- Automotive Certificate from ICAT, Manesar.

 International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar, one of the divisions of the
National Automotive Board (NAB)- under the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Govt. of India has
awarded its first PLI – Automotive Certificate to M/s. Ola Electric Technologies Pvt. Ltd. under the
Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme of MHI for Automobiles and Auto Components.
 The certificate was handed over by Dr. Hanif Qureshi, Additional Secretary - MHI to Dr. S.J.
Dhinagar, Head of Engineering & Sr. VP- Ola Electric, in the presence of Shri Saurabh Dalela,
Director-ICAT & senior officials from MHI, ICAT and M/s. Ola Electric.
Yatin Bhaskar Duggal from Haryana Wins First Prize in National Youth Parliament Festival 2024

 Yatin Bhaskar Duggal from Haryana won the first prize in the National Youth Parliament Festival,
2024, while Vaishna Pitchai from Tamil Nadu won the second prize and Kanishka Sharma from
Rajasthan the third prize.
 Eighty-seven State-level winners assembled in New Delhi for the finals in the Youth Parliament.
 Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized the importance of youth in India’s progress towards
becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, highlighting their thinking capability, innovation, and work ethic.
He stressed India’s role in leading the world.
Oscars 2024: The complete list of winners at the 96th Academy Awards
 The 96th Academy Awards ceremony, which was presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences, took place on March 10, 2024, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
 During the gala, the AMPAS presented Academy Awards in 23 categories honoring films released
in 2023.

India Bags 'Measles And Rubella Champion' Global Award For Extraordinary Efforts To Combat

 India has been bestowed with the prestigious measles and rubella champion award for its
exemplary efforts in combating these diseases.
 The award was received by Ambassador Sripriya Ranganathan on behalf of the Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare at the American Red Cross Headquarters in Washington.
 The Health Ministry in a statement said, this accolade celebrates the country’s unwavering
commitment to public health and its outstanding leadership in curbing the spread of these infectious
diseases among children.
The Ministry of Tourism held an award ceremony for the 'Design Challenge: Eco-Friendly Cutlery and
Crockery to Replace Single-Use Plastic'.
● The Ministry of Tourism hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the ‘Design Challenge: Eco-
Friendly Cutlery and Crockery to Substitute Single Use Plastic’ along with an exhibition of edible
crockery and cutlery, New Delhi which was chaired by D.G. (Tourism), Ms Manisha Saxena and
graced by the presence of Senior Economic Advisor Mr. Gyan Bhushan, renowned Chef Manjit
Singh Gill, Chef Gunjan Goela and others.
● The Ministry of Tourism, in coordination with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering
Technology (NCHMCT) organized the ‘Design Challenge: Eco-Friendly Cutlery and Crockery to
Substitute Single Use Plastic’ on a pan India basis.
T M Krishna conferred the Sangita Kalanidhi Award
● Noted Carnatic vocalist and Magsaysay award winner T.M. Krishna has been selected for the
Sangita Kalanidhi award of the Music Academy for 2024.
● The news about the award was conveyed to Mr. Krishna by N. Murali, president, of Music Academy,
when he was performing, with his wife Sangeetha and students, at the memorial of St. Thyagaraja at
Thiruvaiyaru.

● Renowned poet Prabha Varma has been selected for the Saraswati Samman for the year 2023 for
his work in the Malayalam language.
● He has been considered for this award for his Malayalam language poetry work, Roudra Sathwikam
and also for his contribution to literature during the period 2013 to 2022.
● Roudra Sathwikam is a poetic work of Prabha Varma in Malayalam language which was published in

PM Modi Becomes 1st Foreign Head To Be Bestowed With Bhutan’s Highest Civilian Award Order Of
The Druk Gyalpo
● King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck conferred Bhutan’s highest civilian award, the
Order of the Druk Gyalpo, on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Thimpu.
● Prime Minister Modi is the first foreign leader to be given this prestigious award.
● The citation of the Order states that the award recognises Prime Minister Modi’s accomplishments
and leadership, and his contributions to strengthen the bonds of friendship between India and
Bhutan.
● The King of Bhutan had announced the conferment of the award during Bhutan’s 114th National Day
celebrations in December 2021.

● The Aviation Week Laureates Award was presented to ISRO for its achievements in the historic
Chandrayaan-3 mission.
● Sripriya Ranganathan, Deputy Ambassador at the Indian Embassy in the US, received the award on
behalf of ISRO.
● The Aviation Week Laureates Award is known for recognizing exceptional achievements within the
aerospace industry.
● With a cost of a modest $75 million, this mission achieved a historic milestone by making a
successful landing at the lunar South Pole.
● Earlier, the Leif Erikson Lunar Prize was given to ISRO from the Husavik Museum for its unwavering
commitment and significant contribution to lunar exploration.
● In another accolade for the space agency, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) working group
for Planetary System Nomenclature has approved the name ‘Station Shiv Shakti’ for the landing site
of Chandrayaan-3’s lander.

● The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters has decided to award the Abel Prize for 2024 to
Michel Talagrand of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), Paris, France.
● Michel Talagrand is awarded for his work in probability theory and stochastic processes.
● The Abel Prize was modelled after the Nobel Prizes — which do not include mathematics — and was
first awarded in 2003.
● The recipient wins a sum of 7.5 million Norwegian kroner (US$700,000).

● The Norwegian Parliament established the prize in 2002.
● It is named after Norwegian mathematician Niels Henrik Abel.
● The Abel Prize is a prestigious award in mathematics that recognizes pioneering scientific
