Installation Instructions for Toyota A540E and A540H Solenoids

1. Remove old solenoid. Rostra


2. Insert new solenoid assembly Precision
into valve body. Controls, Inc.

NOTE: White wire on left, red wire on right. Verify proper location with
stamping on bracket.
3. Plug in original wire harness.
NOTE: Be aware that solenoid may rotate during normal operation.
Position lead wires away from moving parts.
4. Slide mounting bracket over locating post on solenoid.
5. While holding mounting bracket in position, attach black ground wire and LOCK-UP
mounting bolt to valve body. Make sure solenoid and bracket are correctly SOLENOID
positioned before tightening mounting bolts.
SHIFT
6. Rostra recommends replacing the pressure regulator sleeve in SHIFT
SOLENOID
the valve body when installing new solenoids. WHITE WIRE SOLENOID
