In this essay I will present the effects that can be caused by conflicts of interest, the most
common reasons and solutions that can be implemented in those cases so as not to decrease the
work effectiveness.
A conflict is made up of two or more people due to diversity of thought and personality,
in this case I will talk about conflicts of interest in the workplace. Conflicts of interest, like other
conflicts, can cause anxiety, uncertainty, worry, anger, sadness, and even depression for one or
both parties, although in the end, conflicts can help us increase our awareness.
Conflicts of interest are prone to arise in work environments, since many times they try to
impose interests unilaterally, since both parties believe they are right and as its name says, it is
caused by interest, this can to become for monetary, social, material benefit, among others.
addition to this, one of the conflict resolution methods can be used such as: facilitation (which is
used for problems in which there are several parties involved), mediation (consists of creating an
environment where problems can be shared and deepened), inquiry (consists of having conflicts
for a quick solution between the parties) and finally, negotiation (its objective is to find a
solution to the problem), these help both parties reach a solution in a mature and respectful way,
thus achieving a pleasant solution and sympathetic to both parties to the conflict.
In the course of our lives we can become part of a conflict of interest, either directly or
indirectly, these, as I said before, need communication, understanding and calm in order to reach
an assertive solution, which is the beneficiary of equitably, many times we prefer to ignore
communication and understanding, which can create more conflicts, so it is advisable to be open
to new opinions and handle the situation calmly and maturely, even if it is necessary, try to put
ourselves in each other's shoes in order to understand the opposite idea, we must also take into
account that one's own benefits are often achieved by hurting or passing over others without
empathizing with the other parties that may suffer due to bad decisions or actions, selfishness is
an action that destroys our environment and does not lead us to good things.
