MEASUREMENTS
This pattern is made to measure, which means we will be taking our own
measurements throughout the pattern and will not be following specific
row or stitch counts. For guidance with measuring refer to the photos
below. All references will be in a size medium with the mentioned gauge.

Measurement A: Your bust measurement, measure around the widest part

of your bust. If you would like your garment to have some positive ease add
this to this measurement now
Reference: 110 cm / 44"

Measurement B: From your collarbone to the desired length of your vest.

Reference: 33cm/17"

Measurement C: From your the top of your shoulder to the desired length
of your vest 53cm/25"

GAUGE SWATCH
Since this pattern is made to measure you will need to make a gauge
swatch, this way you can calculate the amount of stitches you need to
CO

Start by making a 4"x4" gauge swatch in stockinette. ( I like to make it a

little bigger so I can clearly count the STs)

Count the amount of STs that are within the 4"

Reference: 4"= 14 sts

Now take half of your measurement A and your number of STs and do
some math.

Take your number of Sts and divide by 4"

Reference: 14/4 = 3.5 STs
Now take half of your measurement A and multiple with your ST number
from above
Reference: 22x3.5= 77

Round your number up/down to a number divisible by 2. This will be your

number of CO stitches.

SLIP KNOT
A slip knot is the complete beginning of your project.
This will create the first loop of your work.

@Karlijnscorner
Make a loop with your yarn, and pull through the end
attached to your skein through the loop. Put your
hook/needle through the loop. To tighten your slip knot
pull at the short end.
LONG TAIL CAST ON
Take your yarn and measure around 3x your desired
width for your piece, make a slip knot here to create a
long tail. The yarn attached to your skein we'll call your
working yarn

@Karlijnscorner
Put your slip knot on one of your needles. This counts
as your first ST. Now take your tail and wrap it around
your thumb, while tensioning the working yarn with
your point finger. Take your needle and under the
bottom strand of the loop created by the tail and over
the working yarn. Pull the ST loosely around the needle

JOINING IN THE
ROUND
Turn your work so your right needle is the one with
your tail. Check if your STs aren't twisted. Knit your
first ST on your left needle. You're work is now
technically connected in the round.

@Karlijnscorner
To Make your connection stronger take your second
STs of your right needle and carry it over the first ST,
like you would do when you bind off. Give your tail a
tug to tighten it. You can now start working in the
round

KNITTING
insert your right hand needle in the first ST on your left
needle knitwise (from front to back). Wrap your yarn
around your right hand needle or scoop it up
continental style.

@Karlijnscorner
pull the wrapped yarn through the loop of the first ST
and drop the ST that was on your left hand needle. You
have now made a knit stitch.

PURLING
insert your right needle in the first ST on your left
needle purlwise (from the back to the front). Wrap your
yarn around your right needle.

@Karlijnscorner
Pull the wrapped yarn through the first ST loop and
drop the ST that was on your left needle. You have now
made a purl ST

BINDING OFF
Work your first two STs normally in pattern. Take the
second ST on your right needle and carry it over the
first ST and off your needle.

@Karlijnscorner
You have now bound off 1 ST, work the next ST in
pattern and take the second ST on your right needle to
carry over the first ST and off your needle. Continue
doing this until the end of your work or until the
pattern says so.

Reference: 7x 12 rows =84 rows

Row 85-89 (change colour): Alternate K and P rows

Row 90: K26 STs, bind off STs until the last 25 STs, K25 (both straps should
have 26 STs now)

Row 91: P26

Repeat until you have your normal amount of rows per colour
reference: total of 12 rows> until row 97

Put the 26 STs on hold on a piece of scrap yarn or an extra cable. Repeat rows
