I. OBJECTIVE:
Identify the verbal and non-verbal communication.

II. Subject Matter: Verbal and Non-Verbal communication


Materials: Worksheets/Rolled Paper of phrases/ bowl
III. Procedure:

A. Pre-Reading: ( This game is called charades). The teacher will call a volunteer to pick a
phrase inside the bowl. The student will have to pick a phrase and act it out in front of
his/her classmates and they have to guess the phrase.

4. Clap
5. Painful

The teacher will explain to the students that what they did is an example of communication.
Communication can be verbal and non-verbal. Which means communication can be verbal language
and non-verbal or gestures and body language.

B. During reading: The teacher will let the students read the definition of
COMMUNICATION, VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL by pair.

COMMUNICATION – is the process of expressing and exchanging information,


thoughts, ideas , and fellings. according to wood (20004), communication is a
systematic process in which individuals interact with and through symbols to create
and interpret meaning. Communication is a process of sharing and conveying message
or information from one person to another within and across channels, contexts,
media, and cultures. (McCornack, 2014)

Hence, Communication is two-way number one is Verbal communication is the use


of words to share infromation with other people. It can therefore include both spoken
and written communication. Including written letters, memos, newsletters,
newspapers, journals, and even personal notes. The second one is Non-Verbal
communication incudes facial expressions, the tone and pitch of the voice, gestures
displayed through body language and physical distance between the communicators.
For example, Body Language, such as facial expressions, postures and gestures. These
non-verbal signals can give clues and additional information and meaning over and
above spoken (verbal) communication.

9. Rolling your eyes when your brother is boasting.
10. Saying ‘’good morning, ma’am’’ to your manager.
