ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, Kettering University, Flint, MI (’19 – present)
Responsibilities include instruction of undergraduate & graduate Electrical Engineering courses for a total of 24 credit-hours per year,
performing laboratory demonstrations, providing academic support / advisement to students, and scoring student work & exams. Also
expected to make academic contributions to the department and to the university.

LECTURER OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, Kettering University, Flint, MI (’14 – '19)

RESEARCH ENGINEER, Kettering University, Flint, MI ('11 – '14)


Developed simulation models using MATLAB Simulink & LT Spice, hardware circuit designs using Altium Designer, and embedded
software control systems using Texas Instruments’ C2000 DSPs for a variety of power electronics converter systems. Projects
included an 11kW three-phase AC/DC power factor correction unit, a 10kW LLC resonant DC/DC converter, a Kalman Filter based
battery parameter estimation model, a 3.3kW wireless power transfer system, and a 48V 5kW three-phase inverter system.

GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT, Kettering University, Flint, MI ('09 – '11)


Designed & assisted hardware / software construction of a $500,000 electric vehicle laboratory, funded by the U.S. Department of
Energy. Master’s thesis titled, Development of a Bench-Top Electric Vehicle Testing Laboratory, included electric motor &
dynamometer selection & control, power electronics control, power electronics modeling, and battery simulation. LabVIEW and
MATLAB heavily used in software controls and modeling. National Instruments Compact-RIO used for HiL simulation.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING VOLUNTEER, Kettering Formula Zero Team, Flint, MI ('09 – '10)
Assisted the Power Electronics & Controls group of Kettering’s zero-emissions fuel-cell Formula race car team, Formula Zero, hosted
in the Netherlands. Constructed dynamic system models for estimating peak power demands and energy demands per race to
determine sizing of energy storage components. Supported the topology & component selection for the electrical drive-train.

STUDENT CO-OP, Autoliv Electronics America, Southfield, MI ('04 – '08)


Completed a four-and-a-half year rotational program with assignments in many facets of engineering including electrical system
design, prototype / testing, warranty troubleshooting / debugging, and cost reduction / optimization. Completed an undergraduate
thesis project titled, Design & Implementation of a Serial Peripheral Interface Programming Tool, involving both hardware &
software design of a custom power supply circuit programmer for developmental time and cost savings.
