1. REMINDER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:


Nationality: This program is reserved for applicants of foreign nationality. Please note that applicants
with French nationality are not eligible, even if they have citizenship.

Date of Birth:
‐ PhD: the candidate must be 30 years old or under at the time of the 2024 application campaign; i.e.;
born after March 31, 1993.

Scholarship: Students who are already receiving a scholarship from the French Government under
another program at the time of application, are not eligible, even if it is a social security allowance.

Permanent Address:
FOR PhD: students studying abroad are given priority over those already residing in France. The Eiffel
scholarship is awarded for a maximum period of 36 months in France for registration in the 1st year of
thesis. Please note that the number of 36-month scholarship will be limited. Scholarship duration of 18
months; 12 months or 6 months, for all candidates, whether they are already during their thesis or newly
arrived in France or abroad, in co-direction or co-supervision.

Origin of the files:


Only applications submitted by French institutions are eligible. The latter undertake to register the
laureates in the training for which they have been selected. Applications submitted by other means
are not admissible. In addition, an applicant nominated by more than one institution will be rejected.

2. ELIGIBLE TRAININGS
Only training courses accredited by the French State, leading to a master's degree, including in
engineering schools, are admitted. French training courses relocated abroad are not accepted, nor
are training courses within the framework of an apprenticeship or professionalization contract.

2.1 PhD
Institutions may nominate for a doctoral scholarship a candidate who has already received an Eiffel
scholarship at master's level. A candidate who has already received an Eiffel scholarship as part of his
or her PhD is not eligible for an Eiffel scholarship again. The application of a student whose file has
not been selected in a previous selection for this level is not admissible, even if this application is
submitted by a different institution or in a different field of study.

3. LANGUAGE LEVEL
Institutions that pre-select non-French-speaking candidates must ensure that their language level is in
accordance with the level required by the training.

4. MANDATORY DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE APPLICATION

- Copy of an IDENTITY DOCUMENT (preferably PASSPORT) containing the following information:


surname, first name, date of birth and passport number.

- The candidate's CURRICULUM VITAE, written in French or English, on one or two pages
specifying the academic background and professional experience if applicable.

- DIPLOMAS AND RANKING: copy of the last diplomas obtained with indication of the date,
specialty, mentions and any other document attesting to the EXCELLENCE and performance of
the candidate.

- LANGUAGE CERTIFICATE OR DIPLOMA (if applicable).

- The GRADUATES’ REPORTS of the last three years refer to an academic course carried out both in
France and abroad.

- The candidate's PROFESSIONAL PROJECT, written in French or, if not possible, in English, on one or
two pages. This presentation may be accompanied by an external evaluation, for example from a
company.

- A presentation of the THESIS PROJECT, written in French or English (1 and 5 pages). This document
should accurately state the topic of the thesis, the objectives and hypotheses of the research –
innovative aspect, impact and benefits of the project.

- The overall FINANCING PLAN of the thesis

- The CO‐SUPERVISION AGREEMENT or the CERTIFICATE OF CO‐DIRECTION signed by the French


and foreign parties including the schedule for alternating stays in the case of fractioned stays.

NOVELTIES concerning the documents to be provided this year :


- A reasoned opinion on the scientific quality of the thesis topic, written by a university
professor/research director who is an expert in the field of research concerned (in compliance with
the rules of ethics).
- The CV of the university professor/research supervisor in question (2 pages max).

document should accurately state the topic of the thesis, the objectives and hypotheses of the
research – the novelty, impact and benefits of the project.

A reasoned opinion on the scientific quality of the thesis topic, written by a university
professor/research director who is an expert in the field of research concerned (in compliance
with the rules of ethics)

REMINDER:
- The scholarship is awarded for a stay that must begin between September 1 and December 31 of the
year of selection. Each stay in France cannot be of less than 6 months minimum. The scholarship
may extend for a maximum of 3 calendar years.

- The Eiffel scholarship is awarded for a maximum period of 36 months in France. The maximum 36
months of scholarship may, after agreement of the selection committee, be divided into 3 stays in
France. Examples: for an 18-month fellowship, it may be possible to split the fellowship into 3 stays
of 6 months; for a 12-month fellowship, it may be possible to split the fellowship into 2 stays of 6
months.

- A schedule of stays must be defined and communicated to Campus France during the 1st stay. In
case of change of schedule, after the 1st stay, it is mandatory to communicate the new dates at least
2 months before the date of the next stay. Failure to comply with these deadlines does not guarantee
the resumption of payment of the scholarship.
