- Transliteration: Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi ilmika wa astaqdiruka bi

qudratika wa as'aluka min fadlika, fa innaka taqdiru wa la aqdiru, wa ta'lamu wa la
a'lamu, wa anta 'allamul ghuyub. Allahumma, in kunta ta'lamu anna hadha al-
amra khayrun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa 'aqibati amri (or: 'ajili amri wa ajilihi)
faqdirhu li wa yas-sirhu li thumma barik li fihi. Wa in kunta ta'lamu anna hadha al-
amra sharrun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa 'aqibati amri (or: 'ajili amri wa ajilihi) fasrifhu
'anni was-rifni 'anhu waqdur li al-khayr haythu kana thumma ardini bihi.

- English Meaning: O Allah, I seek Your guidance [in making a choice] by virtue of
Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your
great bounty. You have power, I have none. And You know, I know not. You are
the Knower of hidden things. O Allah, if in Your knowledge, this matter (then it
should be mentioned by name) is good for me both in this world and in the
Hereafter (or: in my religion, my livelihood, and my affairs), then ordain it for me,
make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if in Your knowledge, this matter is
bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my affairs (or: in the affair of my
present and later life), then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it, and
grant me power to do good wherever it may be, and cause me to be content with
Your decree.

- Transliteration: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Subhana allathi

sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila rabbina
lamunqalibun, Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadha albirra wattaqwa, wa
min al-'amali ma tarda, Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha wa 'atwi 'anna
bu'dahu, Allahumma anta as-sahibu fi as-safar, wal-khalifatu fi al-ahli, Allahumma
inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'i as-safar, wa ka'abati al-manzar, wa suu'i al-
munqalabi fi al-mali wal-ahli.

- English Meaning: "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the
Greatest. Glory be to the One who has subjected this to us, and we were not
capable of that. And indeed, to our Lord, we shall return. O Allah, we ask You for
righteousness and piety in this journey of ours, and for deeds that are pleasing to
You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance. O Allah, You
are the Companion on the journey and the Successor over the family. O Allah, I
seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from the unpleasant sights, and
from the difficulties upon returning with wealth and family."
3. Sayyid Al-Istighfar (‫)سيد االستغفار‬:

- Transliteration: Allahumma anta rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana

'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mas-tata'tu, a'udhu bika min sharri ma
sana'tu, abu'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u laka bidhanbi faghfirli fa innahu
la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta.

- English Meaning: O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no deity except You. You
have created me, and I am Your servant, and I am faithful to my covenant and my
promise [to You] as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I
have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon
me, and I confess to You my sins. So forgive me, for indeed, none forgives sins
except You.

4. Du'a After the Final Tashahhud (‫الخي‬

‫ر‬ ‫)الدعاء بعد التشهد‬:

ْ َ ‫ َوم ْن ف ْت َنة ْال َم ْح َيا َو ْال َم‬،‫ َوم ْن َع َذاب ْال َق ْي‬،‫وذ ب َك م ْن َع َذاب َج َه َّن َم‬ ُ ُ َ ِّ َّ ُ َّ
‫ َو ِمن‬،‫ات‬
ِ ‫م‬ ِ ِ ِ َِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ‫ الله ْم ِإ ين أع‬-

ِ ‫يح الدج‬ ِ ‫س‬ِ ‫م‬ ِ ِ
 - Transliteration: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhabi jahannam, wa min
'adhabil-qabri, wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat, wa min fitnatil-masihid-dajjal.

- English Meaning: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell,
and from the torment of the grave, and from the trials of life and death, and from
the evil affliction of Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal (the Antichrist).

5. Du'a Al-Karb (‫)دعاء الكرب‬:

- Transliteration: La ilaha illallah al-'azim al-halim, la ilaha illallah rabbu al-'arshi

al-'azim, la ilaha illallah rabbu as-samawati wa rabbu al-ardi wa rabbu al-'arshi al-
karim.

- English Meaning: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah Forbearing.
None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, Lord of the magnificent throne.
None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of
the Earth and Lord of the noble throne.’

6. When the Wind Intensifies (‫)عند اشتداد الريـ ــح‬:

‫ وش ما أر ِسلت ِب ِه‬،‫ِفيها‬
- Transliteration: Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha, wa khayra ma fiha, wa
khayra ma urisilat bihi, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha, wa sharri ma fiha, wa sharri
ma urisilat bihi.

- English Meaning: ‘O Allah, I ask You for it’s goodness, the good within it, and the
good it was sent with, and I take refuge with You from it’s evil, the evil within it,
and from the evil it was sent with.’

7. When Visiting the Sick (‫)عند عيادة المريض‬:

‫ع‬ َ َّ ‫ َأ ْس َأ ُل‬-

- Transliteration: As'alullah al-'azim rabb al-'arsh al-'azim an yashfiyaka

- English Meaning: I ask Allah the Almighty, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, to
cure you. (Seven Times)

8. When Something Pleases or Displeases Him (‫)إذا أتاه أمر يِّسه وإذا أتاه أمر يكرهه‬:

ُ َْ َ َ َ َ ُ َّ َ َ َ
.‫اَّلل كان َو َما ل ْم َيشأ ل ْم َيك ْن‬ ‫ ما شاء‬-

- Transliteration: Ma sha'a Allahu kaan wa ma lam yasha' lam yakun

 - English Meaning: Whatever Allah wills happens, and whatever He does not will
does not happen.

9. When Fearing the Sin of Ostentation (‫)إذا خاف الرياء‬:

ُ ْ َ ُ َْ ْ ُ َْ َ َ ُْ ُ ِّ
.‫ و أستغ ِفرك ِلما ال أعلم‬، ‫شك ِبك و أنا أعلم‬ ِ ‫أ‬ ‫أن‬ ‫بك‬ ‫أعوذ‬ ‫إن‬
‫ اللهم ي‬-

- Transliteration: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika an ushrika bika wa ana a'lam, wa

astaghfiruka lima la a'lam.
- English Meaning: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating
partners with You, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know.

10. When Fearing a People or Authority (‫)إذا خاف قوما أو سلطانا‬:

ُ ُ َ َ ْ ْ ُ ُ ْ ّ َ ُ َ ْ َ َّ َّ ُ ّٰ َ
ُ ُ ‫وذ ب َك ِم ْن‬
‫ور ِه ْم‬
ِ ‫ش‬ ِ ‫ اللهم إنا نجعلك ِ يف نحو ِر ِهم ونع‬-

- Transliteration: Allahumma inna naj aluka fi nuhurihim wa na’udhu bika min

shururihim
- English Meaning: O Allah, we make Thee our shield against them, and take
refuge in Thee from their evils.

11. Supplication when going to the Mosque:

 - Transliteration: Allahumma ij'al fi qalbi nuran, wa fi lisani nuran, wa ij'al fi
sam'i nuran, wa ij'al fi basari nuran, wa ij'al min khalfi nuran, wa min amami
nuran, wa ij'al min fawqi nuran, wa min tahti nuran. Allahumma a'tini nuran.

- English Meaning: "O Allah, place light in my heart, on my tongue, in my

hearing, in my sight, behind me, in front of me, above me, and below me. O Allah,
grant me light."

12. Supplications after the Athan (the call to prayer):

- Transliteration: Allahumma rabba hadhihi ad-da'watit-tammati wassalatil-

qaimati ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilata wab'athhu maqaman
mahmudan alladhi wa'adtahu innaka la tukhliful mi'ad.

- English Meaning: "O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer,
grant Muhammad the intercession and favor, and raise him to the praised station
You have promised him. Verily, You do not fail in Your promise."

13. Supplication for the deceased at the funeral prayer:

- Transliteration: Allahumma ghfir lahu warhamhu, wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa

akrim nuzulahu, wa wasi' muddakhalahu, waghshilhu bil-ma'i wat-thalji wal-
barad, wa naqqihi mina al-khataya kama naqqayta ath-thawba al-abyad minad-
danas, wa abdilhu daraan khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa
zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhu al-jannata, wa a'idhhu min 'adhabi al-
qabri wa 'adhabi an-nar.

- English Meaning: "O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, grant
him health and pardon him. Expand his entry, purify him with water, snow, and
ice, and cleanse him of sin as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Give him a
better home, a better family, a better spouse, enter him into paradise, and
protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire."
