    “Ex” symbol Equipment group I: Equipment category Type of explosive atmosphere:

    Intended for use in underground mines and surface Equipment category 1 = Very high level of protection –
    installations of such mines, liable to be endangered by G = Mixture of air and gases, vapours or mists
    suitable for use in zones 0/20, 1/21, 2/22
    firedamp and/or combustible dust.
    The symbol or the marking “Ex” indicates that the Equipment category 2 = High level of protection –
    Equipment group II: D = Mixture of air and dust or flyings
    equipment falls under the scope of the ATEX Directive suitable for use in zones 1/21, 2/22
    2014/34/EU.
    Intended for use in other places liable to be endangered by Equipment category 3 = Normal level of protection –
