What would you do?
Dear Philip,
I am very delighted to hear that you are going to organize a party for your parents’ wedding anniversary
next week, so I have some ideas that I hope to be useful for you to celebrate it.
First, a surprised party would be great because your parents, as I know, have worked really hard to earn
money for a living. They might never think of having a party because they could use the money for
buying necessities. Therefore, this is a good chance for you to give them a surprise as well as show your
love to them.
Second, I would recommend to celebrate the party at home because it does not really cost much
money. A small cake, some fried chicken and drinks which can be bought outside would be my choices.
Obviously, the simpler the party is, the more time and money you can save.
Finally, what we do during the party is also important to successfully make it a surprised party. Before
your parents come home from work, you should make the table, prepare the food and decorate your
dining room with the help of your siblings. It would be perfect if you give them a small gift like a photo
of themselves that you take on the spur of the moment. It can be the most memorable thing that they
never forget.

I am writing to you to show my pleasure because of your service. Also, I would like to give you some
information about my trip to Da Nang next week.
I am going to depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 3 a.m. and arrive at Da Nang International Airport at
about 6 a.m. Your hotel is quite far from there so it would be convenient for me to be picked up right
after I get off the plane.
In addition, I want to explore the place on my own so I would not hire a tour guide. However, I need a
motorbike to go around the city to visit my friends living near there.
Finally, I will definitely take part in the food festival because I have heard about Da Nang food but have
never had a chance to try. Moreover, it is completely free for me to enjoy many kinds of food there,
which helps me to save a lot of money for renting the room to stay there for a longer time.

Dear John,
I am very happy to hear that you are travelling to my country to enjoy Tet holiday. Here is some
information to help you get a full understanding of it.
In fact, Tet is a traditional holiday in my country. It usually happens between January and February to
mark the beginning of a new year in lunar calendar.
It takes about one week for people to prepare for Tet. They focus on cleaning and decorating their
houses by using ornaments, flowers and six kinds of fruit which are believed to bring about what they
wish for.
During Tet holiday, young children are keen on giving the elderly some best wishes to get lucky money.
They also play a lot of games to relax after a semester when they had to study really hard at school.
In addition, there are a variety of traditional food such as Banh Chung and Banh Tet that people enjoy
having during Tet holiday. These kinds of food are considered as the energy and luck from gods which
people want to have for a coming new year.
