ALI BABA AND FORTY THIEFS

This is a short and interesting story, it is about Ali Baba who is good, a woodcutter, poor and
hardworking, he had a brother called Kasim who was dishonest, lazy, bad, a usurer and rich. When both
brothers' parents died, Kasim kicked Ali Baba out of his parents' house and went to work in the forest to
support his family.

One day when Ali Baba was in the forest chopping wood, he heard a noise that forty horses
were approaching and on each horse came a thief, he hid in the trees and saw that the leader of the
thieves shouted to the rock: "Open O Sim Sim: open up!" and it opened and all the thieves entered to
put in their newly acquired treasures. Once they left the cave, the chief shouted: "Sim Sim: close!" and
everyone left. Ali Baba came down from the tree and tried to move the rock with the words that the
chief of the thieves spoke, and everything opened. Ali Baba went inside and put a good amount of gold
coins and others in a bag. When he left the place he pronounced the magic words and the rock closed
and he returned to his house.

Ali Baba told the truth to his wife, she was very happy, he said, no one should find out that we
have this treasure, because his life was in danger, they had to weigh the treasure before hiding it, so his
wife went to borrow a scale, from Kasim but he put glue on the scale to find out what his brother and
his wife are weighing. And he discovers everything, goes to Ali Baba and demands that he tell him
everything. Then his brother went to the cave and filled as many bags with gold as he could.
Unfortunately, he forgets the magic words and gets trapped inside. When the forty thieves arrive, they
kill him. Worried that Kasim does not return, Ali Baba heads to the cave and discovers the body of his
brother and takes it to his house.

Meanwhile, the thieves discover that Kasim's body is missing and understand that someone else
knows about the cave. The chief of the thieves sends one of them to infiltrate the city and gather news
about some strange death that has recently occurred. That thief finally finds Ali Baba and goes to his
house disguised as an oil merchant who needs accommodation for the night. The other thieves are
hidden in oil jars carried by mules; of all those jars, only one contains oil. The robbers plan to sneak out
once Ali Baba is asleep and kill him.

Ali Baba's wife is not fooled; when she goes out to look for some oil, she discovers the men in
the jars and boils oil from the last jar, causing the death of all the thieves who are hiding. The chief
realizes what happened later that night and escapes before he is killed and since then Ali Baba and
everyone have lived happily in prosperity.
