INTRODUCTION
To achieve the successful outcome of the program “Angat-Buhay sa Barangay: Skill
Training Program” initiative that fosters practicality and growth, we are looking forward
to the collaboration and cooperation of the barangay council. In accordance of
addressing pressing issue of unemployment and limited job opportunities within the
barangay, this led the project team to visualize a program that is both innovative and
sustainable, with the goal of utilizing the resources of the barangay and expand its
culture through handicrafts. With the help of the barangay captain as well as the earnest
cooperation and participation of key partners and the residents within the barangay, we
can ensure that the residents, especially the vulnerable citizens, as well as the
barangay as whole can benefit to this program. Through our collective works and
efforts, the project can secure a success outcome and maintain the improvements
necessary for the barangay by monitoring, evaluating, and consistently striving in the
long run.
RATIONALE

In our recent assessment of Barangay Bayabas, a significant challenge emerged— the

residents in Barangay Bayabas are facing a pressing issue of unemployment and
limited job opportunities. 11 out of 36 households from zone 5 Bayabas considers
unemployment and lack of job opportunities as one of the main factors of poverty,
compounded by the constraint of having limited resources within the barangay. Despite
the progress in Barangay Bayabas, these alarming issues of unemployment and limited
job opportunities persist. This escalates the difficulty in creating accessible job
opportunities, making it crucial to seek external support/assistance, seek innovative
solutions and encourage collaborations to overcome these challenges effectively. This
highlights the crucial need for implementing comprehensive and sustainable solutions in
the community.

The figure above shows the monthly income range of the respondents within barangay Bayabas
