What I Need to Know
As we grow, there are several changes in our body. Now that you are in Grade 6
level or pre-adolescent stage, you can experience physical changes such as growth of
pubic, body and facial hair, changes in body shape and height and also your voice may
change.
The teenage years bring many changes. These are not only physical, but also
mental and social changes. During these years, teens become more able to think
abstractly. Over time, they can make plans and set long-term goals. But it is important to
remember that these changes will happen differently in each teen.
In this module, you will learn that there are issues and concerns you may
encounter as you experience physical changes in your body. With these common issues,
you tend to realize how self-management skills could help you to prevent illnesses.
