CALENDAR

Summer Internship Program

27th May, 2024 : Project Reporting Cum Registration

28th May to 5th July 2024 : Project Under Faculty Supervisor

8th July, 2024 : Project Report Submission

1st August – 2nd August, 2024 : Presentation & Evaluation at Campus

INTRODUCTION

In accordance with the approved program structure, each student must undertake a Project
individually under the supervision of faculty guide and submit the same following the guidelines
stated below.
1. Language of Project Report and Viva-Voce Examination must be in English. The Project
Report must be typed and spirally bounded.
2. Failure to submit the Project Report or failure to appear at the Viva-voce Examination will
be treated as “Absent” in the Examination. He /she has to submit the Project Report and
appear at the Viva-Voce Examination in the subsequent years (within the time period as per
University Rules).
3. No marks will be allotted on the Project Report unless a candidate appears at the Viva-Voce
Examination. Similarly, no marks will be allotted on Viva-Voce Examination unless a
candidate submits his/her Project Report.

MARKING SCHEME FOR PROJECT REPORT AND VIVA-VOCE EXAMINATION:


Project Report (50 marks)
Chapter 1: Introduction – 10 marks
Chapter 2: Conceptual Framework -- 05 marks
Chapter 3: Presentation, Analysis & Findings -- 25 marks
Chapter 4: Conclusion & Recommendations -- 10 marks
Viva-Voce (50 marks)
1. In course of Viva-Voce Examination, the question may be asked in the following
areas: Importance / relevance of the Study, Objective of the Study, Methodology of
the Study /Mode of Enquiry -- 15 marks
2. Ability to explain the analysis, findings, concluding observations, recommendation,
limitations of the Study -- 25 marks
3. Overall Impression (including Communication Skill) -- 10 marks

PROJECT NOT CLEARED REPORT

The following cases would be awarded Not Cleared (NC) report:


a) The student who does not give opportunity for evaluating as per evaluation schedule
would be awarded Not Cleared (NC) report in Project. These students would be required to
repeat Project Work in next academic year when it is offered.
b) The students who are not able to complete the Project within the schedule will be awarded
‘NC’ report.

THE COMPONENTS OF A PROJECT REPORT

The outcome of Project Work is the Project Report. A project report should have the
following components:
1) Title Page: This should contain the title of the project proposal, to whom it is submitted,
for which degree, the name of the author, name of the supervisor, year of submission of the
project work, name of the University. (Annexure II)

2) Acknowledgement: Various organizations and individuals who might have provided


assistance /co-operation during the process of carrying out the study. (Annexure III)

3) Student Declaration: The Student Declaration and Undertakings are a summary of


conditions under which you are admitted and enrolled as a student of the ICFAI University.
(Annexure IV)

4) Certificate of Project Completion: This certificate is awarded only if the faculty


supervisor checks the report and are satisfied that the project is completed according to the
given guidelines. (Annexure V)

5) Table of Content: Page-wise listing of the main contents in the report, i.e., different
Chapters and its main Sections along with their page numbers. (Annexure VI)

6) List of Table/ Figure/ Appendices/ Abbreviations: Page -wise listing of table, figures,
appendices and abbreviation. (Annexure VII, VIII, IX and X)

7) Body of the Report: The body of the report should have these four logical divisions
a) Introduction: This will cover the background, rationale/ need / justification, brief review
of literature, objectives, methodology (the area of the study, sample, type of study, tools for
data collection, and method of analysis), Limitations of the Study, and Chapter Planning.
b) Conceptual Framework / National and International Scenario: (relating to the topic of
the Project).
c) Presentation of Data, Analysis and Findings: (using the tools and techniques mentioned
in the methodology).
d) Conclusion and Recommendations: In this section, the concluding observations based
on the main findings and suggestions are to be provided.

8) Bibliography or References: This section will include the list of books and articles
which have been used in the project work, and in writing a project report. (Annexure XI)

9) Annexures: Questionnaires (if any), relevant reports, etc.

(The main text of the Project should normally be in the range of 5000 words.
However, there may be annexure in addition to the main text)

THE STEPS OF PROJECT WORK

STEP I: Selection of the topic for the project by taking following points into consideration:
 Suitability of the topic.
 Relevance of the topic
 Time available at the disposal.
 Feasibility of data collection within the given time limit.
 Challenges involved in the data collection (time & cost involved in the data
collection, possibility of getting responses, etc.)

STEP II: Finalisation of the topic and submit Project Reporting cum Registration form
(Annexure I) to Project Coordinator in consultation with the Supervisor.

TEP III: Collection of information and data relating to the topic and analysis of the same.

STEP IV: Writing the report dividing it into suitable chapters.

STEP V: Submit project report to faculty supervisor on due date.

STEP VI: Appear for Viva – Voce.

SCHEDULE TO BE FOLLOWED (TENTATIVE)


 Project should start on 27th May 2024.
 Project Topics should be finalised in first week of June so as to enable the students
collecting relevant information and data.
 The Report should be finalised through the interaction between the Students and Supervisors
in first week of July.
 The final Project Report should be submitted by the end of second week of July.
 The evaluation of the Project Report and Viva-Voce Examination should be conducted
during the first week of August. Marks should be submitted to the Academic Coordinator
by the end of second week of August.
 The main text of the Project should normally be in the range of 5000 words. However, there
may be annexure in addition to the main text.
 Two Copies of the Project Report should be prepared of which one copies to be
submitted to the College authorities and one copy to be retained by the student which
he/she must bring at the time of examination.
TEACHERS IN RESPECTIVE COLLEGES GUIDING THE STUDENTS FOR THEIR PROJECT WORK
SHOULD STRICTLY DISCOURAGE AND ENFORCE GUIDELEINES AS TO ENSURE THAT STUDENTS
DO NOT RESORT TO ACTS LIKE ‘PLAGIARISM’ AND ‘CUT AND PASTE’ TECHNIQUES FROM
WEBSITES / INTERNET.
