1. Preamble
The introductory part of project reports should be presented in the following order and
numbering format (except the cover page which should not be numbered explicitly):
i. Cover page
ii. Title page
iii. Declaration
iv. Certification
v. Dedication
vi. Acknowledgements
vii. Abstract
viii. Table of contents
ix. List of Figures
x. List of Tables
i. Cover page
The title cover shall indicate the title of the project, name of the student,
Registration Number, department, institution, and month/year of the presentation. All
shall be in upper case format. The university logo shall be centrally located on this
page. See appendix 1
iii. Declaration
Every completed work must carry a declaration page which must be signed by
both the student and the supervisor. This shall contain a statement that the title of the
project was done by the student. The Name of the student and the supervisor should
appear below the statement including columns for signature and date. See appendix 3
iv. Certification
This shall contain a statement that the work was examined and found to have
met the partial fulfilment of the requirement for the award of a B.Sc degree. The
project title and the student matriculation number should be clearly stated in the

This shall specify the name of the person or institution to which the work is dedicated
vi. Acknowledgements
This shall contain appreciation of any assistance the student received in the
course of the project or his entire programme. This must be brief and should not
exceed one page
vii. Abstract
This shall include a brief summary of the purpose of the study, the procedure
followed, findings, and conclusion. This should not be more than half a page and
should not contain citations. This should be written in past tense
3.2 References:
The APA style of referencing shall be adopted in the citations of authors in the
text and listing of references at the end of the project. The listing of references shall be
in alphabetical order. ACM/IEEE referencing style is also acceptable provided a
consistency of referencing style is maintained.
3.6. Final Project Submission: Four hard bound copies of the approved project will
be submitted through their supervisors after necessary corrections as recommended
during the oral presentation. The copies must be signed by the supervisor before
submitting to the project coordinator.
3.8 Grading Standards: For the purpose of uniformity, grading of the projects shall
be distributed as follows:
A: Grading by Supervisor (40mks)
i. Presentation of work (i.e.tidiness, numbering, format, adherence to
format) – 5mks
ii. Abstract – 5mks
iii. Content – 10mks
iv. Readability – 5mks
v. Visitation to supervisor – 5mks
vi. Illustration – 3mks
vii. Referencing – 5mks
viii. Conclusion – 2mks
