NARRATIVE REPORT ON INSET 2024


January 24-26 and 29-30 2024

In the continuous pursuit of excellence in providing quality professional


development programs for teachers and school leaders, the National Educators
Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) hereby issues the following guidelines in
the conduct of the In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) on 24-26 and 29-30
January 2024 as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 22, s. 2023 .

Balangobong Elementary School conducted In-Service Training for


Teachers (INSET) last 24-26 and 29-30 of January 2024. This is a Journey of
Professional growth and collaboration of teachers and School Head to come up
with a positive outcome all for the learners welfare .

Registration was done in the first day January 24, 2020 at 8:00am to 8:30
am. The first day of INSET started with an opening program. The singing of the
Philippine National Anthem was done , followed by a prayer . Mam Jeanette V.
Sison , welcomed everyone in the said training through her opening remarks.
We were very glad and blessed enough to have our PSDS, Mam Ellen V.
Fernandez during our opening program. She gave us a short message. She
encouraged full participation of every participant to make this year’s In-Service
Training a successful one. Before going to the training proper, a zumba dance
was performed by teachers to make the day ahead full of energy.

The first topic was all about Catch-up Fridays (DO 1, s. 2024). The
Speakers for this topic is our brilliant School Head Mam Jeanette V. Sison and
the Reading Coordinator in English Mam Rosalinda S. Dalisay They deliver and
explain clearly their topic on “ Catch Up Friday” . They also explain further how
to enhance the reading skills language skills, vocabulary and comprehension of
every learners.They also introduce the different techniques in reading skills.

Our second speaker is our ICT expert Mam Florence F. Sazon who
explained to us the wonderful magic of Microsoft 365.She introduced to us
what are the benefits of having a Microsoft 365 account. Next in line , our
Master Teacher Mam Veronica L. Padilla gives us insight on National Learning
Camp & National Reading Program.The foundation of learning begins with
reading as she stated. All teachers must focus on reading to make learning an
easy task for everyone. Mam Lilybeth S. Sanchez talks about on Policy
Guidelines on the Implementation of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education
(DO 31, s, 2018). This empowers adolescents and young people to make
informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health and to prevent
early pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
The first day was a successful one as the speakers delivered each topic
very well.
On the second day, the training was started with a prayer, following the
singing of our National Anthem and to boost participant’s energy, the officer of
the day’s activities gave an energizer where all the teacher’s truly have fun
doing the dance moves .Aftersuch preliminaries, a day begin with the topic on
Child Rights Policy (DO 31, s. 2022) . This topic was further explained by Mam
Zenaida R. Dela Cruz . This provide special protection to children who are
gravely threatened or endangered by circumstances which affect their normal
development and over which they have no control, and to assist the concerned
agencies in their rehabilitation.

Next topic being discussed was all about the Child Protection Policy
(DO 40, s. 2012). Mam Hazel S. Calderon take charge in explaining this topic .
She give us insight on how to handle such situation if problem arise .Followed
at once, was Mam Teresa S. Perez, who explained the topic on Safe Spaces Act
(RA 11313). The law covers all forms of gender-based sexual harassment
(GBSH) committed in public spaces, educational or training institutions,
workplace, as well as online space. She reiterated further that doing some
activities must take proper precautions . The fourth and last topic for this day’s
session was all about the Conduct of Student Led School Watching and Hazard
Mapping and School Contingency Planning for SY 2023-2024 (DM 430, s.
2022) , This was clearly explained by our newbie in the Department Mam Ma.
Louella L. Angeles. Always be ready , because we might never know what will
gonna happen as she concludes in her topic
Truly, the second day of the training was packed of informative ideas and
activities. It was a day full of knowledge and encouragement from the resource
speakers. As what St . Jerome said “good. better, best never let it rest ‘til your
good is better and your better is best” just go on, explore more and learn more.
At the third day, the training was continued through preliminary
activities, a short prayer and followed by the singing of National Anthem. An
energizer led by the host and officers of the day perform a zumba dance
exercise. The whole day activity was the making of reading materials for the
“Catch Up Friday”. All teachers were very engrossed in the task assigned to
them. Everyone actively involved in the workshop and enjoyed every minute of
the day.The third day ended with a fruitful collaboration and sharing of ideas.

The fourth day activity ran smoothly. The Presentation of


Accomplishments and Evaluation of School’s Progress Attained in the
Educational Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) was a success. The
teacher’s gather a bunch of useful ideas that they will surely apply as they go
back to their respective classrooms.

On the fifth day and definitely the last day , the training was started with
a short meditation and prayer followed by the singing of National Anthem and
an energizer to prepare for the whole day activities.

Today’s activity is about the Review on the Performance of the Teachers


and School Staff to Address Concerns through Collaborative Effort. Mam
Jeanette V. Sison our school head reviewed the performance of teachers by
evaluating the different checklist on Mid-Year Self-Assessment if it is evident
or not evident. She suggested some insights to make the project or activity
effective to every learner. A Certificate of Recognition was awarded to the
facilitators / Speaker and all participants were given Certificate of
Participation.

The program was ended with a warmest words of gratitude from our
School Principal Mam Jeanette V. Sison .It was indeed a fruitful and successful
Five-day In-Service Training for all the teachers of Balangobong Elementary
School. All together, we learned that if learning materials is designed to be
highly relevant and delivered in context then it is likely to be useful.
Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belong to the people who
prepare for it, and the greatest asset of every school is the personality of the
teachers
