Job Description: Part-Time Psychologist/Counselor

Position Title: Part-Time Psychologist / Counselor

Location: The Sport School, Bengaluru

Job Type: Part-Time

Reports To: School Administration

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced part-time


Psychologist/Counselor to provide weekly mental health evaluations and support for 35
children aged 10-12 from remote parts of North-east India. These children, who have recently
been admitted to our school to learn Tennis or Badminton, come from economically poor
backgrounds and speak different languages and dialects. This role is critical in ensuring their
mental well-being as they adjust to their new environment and address any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

 Conduct weekly mental health evaluations for the children to identify any issues or
concerns.
 Provide individual counseling sessions for children who need additional support.
 Develop and implement strategies to help children cope with their new environment
and academic pressures.
 Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and parents to support the children's overall
well-being.
 Maintain confidential records of all evaluations and counseling sessions.
 Offer guidance and support to children in navigating language barriers and cultural
differences.
 Provide crisis intervention as needed.
 Conduct group sessions or workshops on topics such as stress management, coping
skills, and emotional regulation.

Qualifications:

 Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.


 Valid license or certification as a psychologist or counselor.
 Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children and adolescents.
 Experience working with children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds is
highly preferred.
 Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 Proficiency in English and Hindi; knowledge of North-east Indian languages is a plus.
 Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children.
Working Hours:

 Part-time: 1-2 days per week


 Flexible hours, primarily during school hours
 Some availability for emergencies or urgent consultations
