SUBJECT : PROGRESS INVESTIGATION REPORT

MATTERS INVESTIGATED:

a. The probable cause


b. The perpetrator(s) if there is any
c. The motive behind the occurence of fire

FACTS OF THE CASE:

1. 11:15am 2 witnesses saw the entire incident of arson at Brgy. Dinginan Roxas City, Capiz.
According to the witnesses statement; they saw the entire thing from the start of pouring
accelerant to the ignition point of fire and up to the time they both put out the fire.
2. The 2 witnesses saw the clothing of the suspect but was not able to identify them as they
covered their face with black face mask and wore a black hoodie with no designs or print on it.
“He used a bottle to store the gasoline and pour it inside and outside the house before setting it
up. He did it within a span of a minute or two and then fled the scene after setting the front yard
on fire. Luckily we saw it and he did not see us so before it reaches the house we splashed water
all over it and woke up Mr. Bantillo.” According to them.
3. Prior to the arrival of investigator the fire was put out and no casualties occurred. The suspect is
hiding and at large at the moment but further investigation and search will most likely blow his
cover away.
4. Around 11:20am of the same day, the BFP personnel arrived along with the investigators, they
searched the area and conducted investigation before leaving the area.
5. Prior to their leave, they interviewed three (3) major personalities. The owner of the house Mr.
Rady Bantillo and the two (2) witnesses Mr. Patrick Martin Dacles and Mr. Patrick John Sales.
6. According to Mr. Bantillo, before he was alerted by the witnesses he was sleeping inside the
house then, he was rattled by the shouting of his neighbors (witnesses) and helped them splash
water all over the gasolines and trail of accelerant.

DISPOSITION:

7. The fire personnel are continuing with the investigation to determine the arson angle.
8. Final investigation report will follow.
