 OBJECTIVES:

o To familiarize with the course structure and expectations during the welcome
orientation.

o To understand the basics of Epidemiology (EPI) and Integrated Management of


Childhood Illness (IMCI).

o To learn the essentials of conducting a home visit, including the bag technique.

 PROCEEDING:

o The day began with a welcome orientation where the instructors introduced the course
objectives, schedules, and key activities.

o We then participated in a detailed discussion on EPI and IMCI, covering the importance
of these frameworks in public health.

o In the afternoon, Sir [Instructor’s Name] demonstrated the bag technique, emphasizing
its role in maintaining sterility during home visits.

 REFLECTION:

o The orientation provided clarity on what to expect throughout the course, setting a

o To gain further insights into the practical aspects of our fieldwork during the orientation.

o To practice and refine the bag technique during the return demonstration and complete
the brochure submission.

 PROCEEDING:

o The morning started with a quiz, designed to evaluate our grasp of EPI, IMCI, and related
topics.

o We then moved to the auditorium for an in-depth orientation on the practical aspects of
our training and field assignments.
o In the afternoon, we performed a return demonstration of the bag technique, followed
by the submission of our brochures, which were part of our ongoing assignments.

 REFLECTION:

o To learn about the Benedict's test and Acetic Acid test, and their applications in clinical
settings.

 PROCEEDING:

o The day began with our second quiz, which focused on more complex material, including
diagnostic tests.

o The rest of the day was dedicated to learning about the Benedict's test and the Acetic
Acid test, including their procedures and significance in detecting specific substances in
urine.

 REFLECTION:

o The quiz was challenging but necessary, pushing me to deepen my understanding of the
material.

o Learning about the Benedict's and Acetic Acid tests was enlightening, as these are
critical tools in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.

o The discussions and reviews after the quiz helped clarify any uncertainties, reinforcing
the importance of precision and accuracy in clinical diagnostics.
