We have five (5)

basic elements of short story, and
those are Characters, Setting, Plot,
Conflict, and Theme

Character is a person or even an

animal who takes place part in the
action of a short story or a piece of
literature.There a several types of
character that according to
principalities and those are
protagonist and antagonist.

Protagonist is the main

character in the movie or sometimes
the hero or heroine in literary works.
Antagonist is the character
that goes against the protagonist.
For example in the Cinderella story,
the protagonist is Cinderella and the
antagonists are her stepmother and
stepsister.
Setting is the time and location
that story takes place.

Plot is the sequence of events

in the story. There are five (5) parts
of plot and these are exposition,
rising action, climax, falling action
and lastly resolution.

PARTS OF A PLOT
Exposition- Introduction;characters,setting and conflict(problem) are
introduced.
Rising Action-Events that occur as result of central conflict.
Climax-Highest point of interest or suspense of a story.
Falling Action-Tension eases;events show the results of how the main
character begins to resolve the conflict.
Resolution/Denouement- This is the conclusion or ending of a story.

Conflict is the struggle or

problem that main character face.
person makes some decision, over
complain, quietly temper or resistant
urge.

There are Four Kinds of conflict:

Man v Man: (Physical) the leading character struggles with his
physical strength against other men, forces of nature, or animals
