VII. Abstract: Enhancement of SHS Research Capability thru Project

Galvez CREST (Collaborative Research Engagement in Science and
Technology)
This school innovation/intervention project is geared towards
capacitating both students and teachers in research. Collaboration
and integration with various subjects relevant to research is
developed. Hence, outputs and outcomes are expected to improve
assessment level and to students’ understanding of a research-
oriented school.

VIII. Implementing Rules

1. The activities are designed for two (2) days. Day 1 will be the pre-
liminary training for student-researchers about the parts of a re-
search paper to be attended by selected teachers and learners on
March 12, 10:00 in the morning. Consequently, on May 7, Day 2
is dedicated for Grade 12 Research exhibit which will serve as open-
ing activity to be attended by potential stakeholders. Grade 10 and
STE-P learners are invited to witness the output of Grade 12 learners
which are scientifically inclined.
2. Day 2 will be the Research Congress wherein student-researchers
will showcase their outputs in form of interactive posters. The stu-
dents are grouped to prepare their research proposal and task to
undergo consultations with the designated faculty members: Techni-
cal Editor, Subject Specialist and Statisticians.
3. During the Research Congress, each group will prepare the interac-
tive poster during the culminating day. G12 learners are tasked to
prepare their outputs both for exhibit and interactive poster presen-
tation. They will prepare their interactive posters and demonstrate
the product/innovation they have developed. Keynote speakers will
also provide relevant insights to enhance learners’ knowledge in
crafting research and provide feedback for improved research out-
puts. Potential stakeholders are Bay DepEd Family, LGU, GPTA and
Rotary Club of Bay.
4. Day 2 morning will be devoted for SHS RULES (Readiness and Up-
skilling of Learners during Emergency Situation) to be facilitated by
School Red Cross Officiating teachers and learners. Demonstration
