Dear Sir/Madam,
It gives us great pleasure to invite you to BIS' fourth edition of XANADU, an Inter-School
Performing and Visual Arts Fest scheduled to be held on 24th October, 2024. The fest
was created with the intention of celebrating the beauty of Music, Art, Dance and
Drama and to give students an opportunity to not just showcase their talents, but also
learn from their peers and truly appreciate the diversity of expression of each art form.
The details of the program are as follows:

Please also note,

A teacher must be present with the participants at all times.

Participants are required to carry Student IDs.
Details of participants/events to be sent as per attached format at the
time of registration
Food stalls will be accessible during the event so students are kindly
advised to bring sufficient cash for their purchases

RULES:
A maximum of two entries per school can participate in this event under each category.
The maximum performing time per participant will be 2 mins 30 seconds.
Participants can choose any dance genre for this event.
The top three performances shall be rewarded.
Plagiarism is not permitted and will lead to disqualification of the entry. In line with the global competition guidelines, dances
choreographed by the student’s dance teacher or choreographer are preferred.
Costumes and props should be arranged by the participants. Appropriate costumes should be worn
No profanity or inappropriate words to be used in the music.
Music should be submitted before 20th October, 2024 via mail to [email protected]; one copy should also be carried in
pendrive.
Moves should be age appropriate and should not depict vulgarity.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER - GROUP DANCE
TIMINGS - 9.30 AM to 11.00 AM
CATEGORY
Grade 5 to Grade 12
RULES:
Only one team per school can participate in this event under each category. The team can have participants across different
grades or from one grade.
A maximum of 8 - 10 can be part of each team (crew).
The maximum performing time should be 4 minutes. Time for entry and exit of the stage will be 1 minute 30 seconds.
The top three performances shall be rewarded.
Teams will receive extra points for showcasing thematic performance. Creativity and adherence to the theme will be considered in
the evaluation process.
Plagiarism is not permitted and will lead to disqualification of the entry. In line with the global competition guidelines, dances
choreographed by the student’s dance teacher or choreographer are preferred.
Costumes and props should be arranged by the participants. Appropriate costumes should be worn.
Usage of flammable items for performance is prohibited.
No profanity or inappropriate words to be used in the music.
Music should be submitted before 20th October, 2024 via mail to [email protected]; one copy should also be carried in
pendrive.
Moves should be age appropriate and should not depict vulgarity.

THE CONQUEROR - DANCE BATTLE
TIMINGS - 2.00 PM to 3.30 PM
CATEGORY
Senior - Grade 8 to Grade 12
RULES:

Each school can identify a maximum of 3 participants to participate in this event.

Battle is an impromptu dance event in which each team of dancers will be challenged to dance to the
unpredictable, varied beats of a live DJ.
Each battle will be between two individuals selected at random before the event.
The music genre will change for each battle and can be from any genre of music.
Judges will choose dancers from each battle to advance to the next round.
The winner and runner up of the battle shall be rewarded. The judges' decision will be final.

One accompanying instrument is allowed (only student accompanist allowed). The performance will be assessed based on the
participant only.

Karaoke is allowed without recorded voices or backing vocals.
Post production effects are not allowed (auto tune/ delay / reverb / echo etc)
No profanity or inappropriate words/themes to be used in songs performed.

One team per school / per category (Junior/Senior). 6 to 12 members/team.
Apart from the 12 voices, one accompanying instrument is allowed (only student accompanist allowed).
Time limit - 3 + 1 minutes (Including an introduction).
Karaoke is allowed without backup vocals.
Participants will be judged only on the basis of their performance.
Post production effects are not allowed (auto tune/ delay / reverb / echo etc)
Recorded voices/backing vocals cannot be used in the backing tracks.
No profanity or inappropriate words/themes to be used in songs performed.

No profanity or inappropriate words/themes to be used in songs performed.

RULES:

A maximum of two entries per school, per category can participate in this event.
The maximum performing time per participant will be 4 minutes.
Plagiarism is not permitted and will lead to disqualification of the entry. The use of AI is not tolerated.
The participants should arrange costumes and props. Costumes chosen must be appropriate and mustn’t undermine the
dignity of the event.
No profanity or un-parliamentary language should be used.
A transcript must be provided by mail, minimum a day prior to the competition, any deviation from which will be
negatively marked.
The performance must be screened and approved by the respective school coordinator.
Props like chair and table will be provided.
Music system will be provided to play recorded music

RULES:

One team per school allowed.

The play should be a maximum of 12 minutes with a total team strength of not more than 12 students (including backstage
team members).
Plagiarism is not permitted and will lead to disqualification of the entry.
Costumes and props should be arranged by the participants.
Appropriate costumes should be worn.
No profanity or inappropriate words/themes to be used in the play script.
Soft copy of the script or the synopsis should be submitted before 10th October, 2024 to

Play/performance to be screened and approved by the respective school coordinator.
The following items will be provided on the day of the event to create your magic of theatre: speakers, laptop, basic lights, 5
black boxes.

Guidelines and Submission

Students from Grade 5 to Grade 12 can participate in the events. Each participant can take part in a maximum
of one event.
Each school must fill up one submission form only.
Submit the art to the teacher in-charge
Submitting details on the artwork: Student Full Name_Event name_School name_Grade
Students can get their own materials
Basic stationary will be provided – art paper, pencil, easer and scale

All rules including the image formats are to be strictly followed otherwise the entry will be disqualified. All the
image submissions of the artifacts created for the competition will be under the intellectual property of the host
school. The decision of the jury panel will be final and binding.
