Session 1

How to learn English

English is very important and we need it in many things, so here are some tips to learn English:
Read everything you can get your hands on: actively take note of new vocabulary this will help
you to improve your language.

Talk with real live humans: Try to communicate and deal with your close friends in English and
express your ideas and feelings.

Go abroad if it is possible: choose your favorite city or country and travel to as a foreigner. This
can help you to speak English all the time.

Do daily tasks in English: You can watch or read the news in English, or talk about what you need
to do or speak in front of a mirror to gain confidence.

Watch YouTube, TV Shows and Movies: Children’s materials and listening to music can be easy
and fun, but you might still want something more interesting and enjoyable.

follow your study plan. Your study plan should change every week, but you should still have time for
studying English.

Usage of verb to be

We use verb to be to express about Names, ages, places, nationalities, jobs, adjectives, and
marital status.

Examples
My mother is a teacher.
Bill Clinton was the president of the US.
This soup is very tasty.
The children were good.
John and his wife are from Manchester.
The flowers are on the table.
John is only fourteen, but Sara is sixteen. Sara is older than Johan.

Verb to be (present simple tense)
