BIBLE
PRINCIPLES OF LEADERSHIPIN
THE BIBLE
1 Peter 5:3 - Neither as being lords over [God's] heritage, but being
ensamples to the flock.
Hebrews 13:7 - Remember them which have the rule over you, who have
spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of
[their] conversation.
Acts 20:35 - I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to
support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he
said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Mark 10:45 - For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to
minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Luke 22:26 - But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let
him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth.
Philippians 2:3-8 - nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

AREAS OF
LEADERSHIP IN THE
CHURCH
PILLARS OR
CATERPILLARS
PILLARS OR CATERPILLARS
Apostle Paul while writing to Galatians in Galatians 2:9 referred to
James, Peter and John as Pillars. If these men can be seen as pillars,
it, therefore, means that human beings and Christians can be pillars
of their families, communities, societies in which they live and in the
Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.
That is to say that the Church of Christ where we belong cannot
function effectively as Pillar and ground of the Truth if there are no
human pillars such as were Apostles James, Peter and John.
Pillars are supporters. Am I then a supporter or destroyer of the work
of God where I am?
Pillars of the Church refers to those strong supporters of the
Church. They are great supporters of Truth and of good works.

Then the Philistines gathered together to fight with Israel, thirty [b]thousand
chariots and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand whichison the
seashore in multitude. And they came up and encamped in Michmash, to the east of
Beth Aven.
6When the men of Israel saw that they were in danger (for the people were
distressed), then the people hid in caves, in thickets, in rocks, in holes, and in
pits.7Andsome ofthe Hebrews crossed over the Jordan to the land of Gad and
Gilead.
As for Saul, hewasstill in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
8Then he waited seven days, according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did
not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
9So Saul said, Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me. And he
offered the burnt offering.
10Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that
Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.

Elisha said, As the Lord lives, before Whom I stand, I will accept

Naaman said, Then, I pray you, let there be given to me, your
servant, two mules burden of earth. For your servant will
henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods,
but only to the Lord.

In this thing may the Lord pardon your servant: when my master
[the king] goes into the house of [his god] Rimmon to worship
there, and he leans on my hand and I bow myself in the house of
Rimmon, when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, may
the Lord pardon your servant in this thing.
Elisha said to him, Go in peace. So Naaman departed from him a
little way.

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my
master spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving from his
hands what he brought. But as the Lord lives, I will run after him and
get something from him.
So Gehazi followed after Naaman. When Naaman saw one running
after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him and said, Is
all well?
And he said, All is well. My master has sent me to say, There have
just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim two young men of
the sons of the prophets. I pray you, give them a talent of silver and
two changes of garments.
And Naaman said, Be pleased to take two talents. And he urged
him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags with two changes of
garments and laid them upon two of his servants, and they bore
them before Gehazi.
When he came to the hill, he took them from their hands and put
them in the house; and he sent the men away, and they left.
He went in and stood before his master. Elisha said, Where have
you been, Gehazi? He said, Your servant went nowhere.

3The saying is trueandirrefutable: If any man [eagerly]
seeks the office of bishop (superintendent, overseer), he
desires an excellent task (work).
2Now a bishop (superintendent, overseer) must give no
