Work ??
Priming

Centrifugal
pump
doesnt
generate
a
vacuum. Pump can only do pumping process
if fluid level reach center of its shaft. So we
need equipment to suck fluid from pit. This
process called priming.

Preparation Before
Commissioning
1. Make sure all electrical connection has been isolated
properly.
2. Install suction hose, strainer, clamp hose and boom lifting.
3. Fill pump, vacuum pump, engine oil and coolant, also fuel.
4. Placed the unit at operation position.
5. Make sure all bolts has been tighten properly.
6. Do the alignment.

Preparation Before Start Up
1. Make sure strainer of suction hose is immersed
under water. Minimum depth is 6 x hose diameter.
2. Check that the oil level of engine is between Max
and Min marks.
3. Check the coolant level of the engine and the
radiator.
4. Check that no leakage of oil, fuel, coolant occurs.

Operation
1.

Start Up Procedure

Rotate the battery isolator clockwise from


horizontal position to vertical. The key

cant be released when switch is on.

Set the selector in control panel to Auto

Press ON button in Engine Display Control


Unit (DCU)

4.

Start the engine. Pump indicator will be


turned on (X). Low level indicator will
turned on (Z). Vacuum pump will work,
vacuum pump indicator will turned on (Y).
After 40 seconds low level turned off (Z)
it indicates fluid has already enter the
pump, vacuum pump will off, indicator (Y)

Caution !
If pump fail to prime after 3
minutes,
engine
will
automatically shut down. Check
all connection at suction line if
there are leakages.

1. Tighten gland plate if

leakage.
2. Change gland packing
if necessary.

Pump Vibration
1.

Measure vibration periodically


as picture shown.

2.

Prepare pump maintenance if


vibration reach 7.1 mm/s RMS

3.

Pump must not be operated if


the vibration more than 10.2
mm/s RMS.

Shut Down Procedure
1.

Reduce the speed. Let the engine run for a


one minutes in idle condition.

2.

Press the STOP button.

3.

Turn engine DCU off.

4.

Rotate the battery isolator counter clockwise from

vertical position to horizontal.


5.

After the engine in complete off, open


drain valve on vacuum tank to avoid slurry/
dirty contact with the level sensor.

6.

Open drain valve on water separator tank.

7.

Open drain valve on discharge pipe.
