Diwali

Diwali is celebrated mainly by Hindus to commemorate the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom after defeating the demon Ravana. It is known as the festival of lights, where people light candles and lanterns to welcome Lord Rama home, as the people of India lit lights to guide Rama and his wife Sita upon their return from exile. Hindus celebrate by decorating their homes with lights, buying new clothes, sharing sweets with family, and creating colorful Rangoli patterns on the floor.
