Location of site
• The site is located in Zirakpur near metro
Khasra No. 44 & 46, NH -22, Chandigarh
Ambala Road, Near , VIP Road, Zirakpur,

ESTIMATING AND COSTING
Estimating and costing is a part of civil
engineering in which we study about
the estimation as well as costing of
different civil engineering structures.It
gives the full idea about the investment
required for the completion of the
project.
Concrete slab
A concrete slab is a common
structural element of modern
buildings. Horizontal slabs of steel
reinforced concrete, typically between
4 and 20 inches (100 and 500
millimeters) thick, are most often used
to construct floors and ceilings, while
thinner slabs are also used for
exterior paving.
CONSTRUCTION OF STAIRS
A stairway, staircase, stairwell, flight of stairs, or
simply stairs is a construction designed to bridge a
large vertical distance by dividing it into smaller vertical
distances, called steps. Stairs may be straight, round, or
may consist of two or more straight pieces connected
at angles.
CONSTRUCTION
o The first step in building stairs for a deck is finding
the total rise.
o Lay a straight board on top of the deck.
o Extend it from the edge.
o Measure down to the landing location.
o Generally a flight of stairs has 12 or 13 steps.
MAP READING OF COLUMN AND BEAM
SCAFFOLDING
A temporary structure on the
outside of a building, made of
wooden planks and metal poles,
used by workmen while building,
repairing, or cleaning the building.
SHUTTERING/FORMWORK
 Formwork is a temporary structure
used as a mold in which fresh
concrete are poured to cast the
members of the structure at the site.
It is also known as falsework or
shuttering. In the context of concrete
construction, the falsework supports
the shuttering molds for example
column sides, beam sides, slab side,
wall side etc.
CENTERING
 Part of the formwork which
supports the horizontal surface is
called centering for example slab
bottom, beam bottom etc.
Conclusion
It is of great honor to be working as an intern
student at A.R construction for 42 days. I have
gained new knowledge, skills and met many new
people. I achieved several of my learning goals.
During the entire period I got to learn a number of
useful things related to us and also learned to deal
with different challenging situations faced at
different times at site. At last this internship has
given me new insights and motivation to pursue a
career in construction ahead. It gave me hope to
face any challenges that may arise in the
construction site and acted like a guide book for
us trainee into the real life of a responsible citizen.
