1. VERTICAL MOVEMENT
Movement of an

higher one.
2. HORIZONTAL MOVEMENT
Transfer of an employee to
another department or
position with similar
responsibilities
or status.
3. PROMOTION
Movement to a
higher level or
position.
Criteria:
Tenure –refers to number ofyears
in service of anemployee.
Meritorious performance – refers to
excellent or outstanding performance
of an employee.
4. DEMOTION
Movement to a lower
level/position.
5. TRANSFER
Movement to another position but
with the same level or scope of

6. SEPARATION
Employees departure from the
organization.
