NATIONALISM AMONG THE FILIPINOS
 ONE OF THE MAJOR EVENTS IN 1872 (TOGETHER
WITH THE MARTYRDOM OF GOMBURZA)
 UPRISING OF MILITARY PERSONNEL OF FORT SAN
FELIPE ON JANUARY 20,1872.
 AROUND 200 SOLDIERS AND LABORERS ROSE UP IN
THE BELIEF THAT IT WOULD ELEVATE TO A
NATIONAL UPRISING.
 THE MUTINY WAS UNSUCCESSFUL, AND
GOVERNMENT EXECUTED MANY OF THE
PARTICIPANTS.

MARTYRED PRIESTS.
 TAGGED AS THE MASTERMINDS OF THE
CAVITE MUTINY.
 THEY WERE CHARGED WITH TREASON
AND SEDITION
 SPANISH CLERGY CONNECTED THE
GOMBURZA TO THE MUTINY AS PART OF
A CONSPIRACY TO STIFLE THE
MOVEMENT OF SECULAR PRIEST WHO
DESIRED TO HAVE THEIR OWN PARISHES
INSTED BEING ASSISTANTS TO THE
REGULAR FRIAR
