Roughly, there is 16% percent drop from previous enrollment (SY 2019-2020). Still,
up by 4% from DepED projection of 80% enrollment turnout both from private and
public schools.
SCPS anticipates a lower turnout in general since not all parents can enroll their
children in school due to the impact of the corona virus pandemic.

connectivity. Given their exposure to computer mediated strategy, they have
the skills for the blended learning and teaching environment.

More than fifty percent of the online enrollees are exposed to these
ICT gadgets such as smart phones, television and wi-fi connectivity. Further,
their parents claim that they have tablet, laptop and desktop. Learners
ownership of these infrastructures has the potential to shift the home-
school link using the flexible learning options.

Remote enrollees too have ICT gadgets such as wi-fi connectivity,

Modular distance learning tops as the preferred learning modality in the absence
of face to face classes amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) health crisis. This means
learning materials will be prepared by teachers and delivered to the pupils. Online

Majority of teachers report themselves to be comfortable users


of ICT. This only means that they have the basic skills to facilitate
lessons using digital technologies. Considering the new normal
education, teachers need to become a confident user of ICT and need
to take part in ongoing training for online platform..

Given their access to IT, enrollees have personal skills on internet


surfing, downloading and uploading and word processing. These IT skills
can be used to support virtual classroom activities.
STAKEHOLDERS’ SUPPORT
 Voluntary local bayanihan activities (Project PILOT) to
sustain supplies of essential items, school supplies,
reproduction of learning materials
 COVID 19 supplies for a safe school operations
 Parent-Teacher Conference to ensure upgrading and
mutual support on home-based learning
 Donations and funding for internet connections,
computers, desktops, laptops and other IT gadgets for
the implementation of distant learning for teachers
and learners
PREPARATIONS TO ENSURE THAT THE
SCHOOL IS READY AND SAFE
 Establish minimum health protocols
-maintain handwashing facility with liquid soap at the entrance
- implement mandatory wearing of face masks
- require stepping on footbath upon entrance
- use 70% alcohol as hand sanitizers
- disinfect daily the door knobs, comfort rooms and other high
contact common areas
- Observe 1 meter physical distancing
- Scan temperature of parents, teachers and non-teaching
upon entry
PREPARATIONS TO ENSURE THAT THE

 Post signages on proper handwashing, COVID
-19 signs and symptoms and other health
minimum protocols
 Conduct daily survey for Teachers as to signs
of cough, fever and colds including existing
health problems
 Disinfect the classrooms by spraying using the
1 galloon water and 1 cup water solution

Surigao City Pilot School will continue to provide quality
education despite of the pandemic our nation has been facing
nowadays.

modes of learning that can cater the academic needs of each
student.
