Coping stress with Recreational Activities We live in a tough economic time that exacerbates everyone’s stress level. There are lots reason why people are stress. Everyone is considered to be affected by this problem. It could be in any form such as physical, mental and emotional. Some people turn to drugs, alcohol, food or even sexual activities as an outlet to relax themselves and to escape internal stressors that is generated by the real world. Coping stress with Recreational Activities Stress is one of the major influences upon mood, well- being, behavior and health.
Without a good pattern of coping stress, the more it
will last and can damage physiological health and even total well-being.
Since stress is considered to our daily basis, have we
questioned ourselves; what are the creative ways of coping with stress? RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES A healthier and more practical way of dealing with stress is through recreational activities.
It will give people rejuvenation of spirit, sense of
competence, enthusiasm, fulfillment and empowerment.
It is essential to understand that stress can be
handled in such a way that people will benefit most after dealing with it. AQUATICS It refers to the different water-sports such as swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water- polo, sailing, skiing, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and open water swimming.
People who engage themselves to water exercises,
works against the resistance of the water in all directions compared to land-based exercises where the body works against the gravity. Benefits of Aquatic activities Improves muscular Builds Endurance strength

Improves Psychosocial By working the muscles against the resistance of the water, muscular strength is increased.
Mattos (2016) concludes that aquatic can
improve muscle strength and functionality. Muscles perform by repetitive contraction in working against the natural resistance of the water. Muscular and cardiovascular endurance are enhanced through participating in aquatic sports. When in water, the effects of gravity virtually eliminated – assists 90% of the body weight for reduced muscle-bone impact and increases flexibility. Muscles and joint can work in a way that it moves against resistance without high compact. By focusing on something other than what are usually done on a daily basis. In aquatic activities, you will get focus on body coordination, appreciation of the nature, and even conquering fears and challenges helps people to relieve stress, boost confidence and overcome anxiety. A study conducted by Fitch (1976) about the effects of swimming training in asthmatic children also found out that swimming even reduces fat folds. Our body activates different systems in order to adapt the activity which causes also the body to consume energy through burning calories. Frequent participation in aquatic events decreases blood pressure due to improve of cardiovascular performance. Blood circulations become efficient which is part of the body’s adaptation on long-term water exercises participation. Water exercise limits no age, gender, races, and abilities. It has been a common recreational activities for all; families, friends, relatives to bond each other while enjoying the water. Participants follows the movement performed by a
water fitness instructor, with accompaniment of intermittent music, while enjoying and working out against the water. WATER POLO
It is a competitive sports which is played by two teams in
the water. The main objective is to score a goal by throwing a waterproof ball with a single arm. It develop muscular strength in upper & lower limbs. SURFING
A water sports in which a wave rider rides on a long
board, moving on the deep face of the wave that usually carries the surfer towards the shore. It is suitable primarily in oceans & seas with active water waves. CANOE – KAYAK
In early ages, it is essential to civil used for navigations &
to explore to the rivers, lakes, canals & other water bodies. Today, it is considered as one of recreational aquatic activities. SNORKELING
It is a swimming discipline on or through the bodies of
water while equipped with diving goggles, a typical U- shaped tube used for breathing which is called as “snorkel”, and swim fins.
