TERM DEFINITION

Assessment  A variety of quantitative or qualitative


procedures used to obtain information
about student performance.
 Involves a licensed professional who
uses tests, techniques and strategies to
maximize discovery of client’s full
ability or potentials (Matarazzo, 1990)
 Conceptual, problem-solving process of
gathering dependable, relevant
information about individual, group, or
institution, in order to make informed
decisions (APA, 2000).
