Life cycle

of frog
preliminary
Before becoming an animal that can jump to
and fro, frogs have to go through a long life cycle. In
carrying out its life cycle, frogs must go through
metaformosis.
Metamorphosis is a biological development
process in animals that involves changes in physical
appearance after birth or hatching.
In this case, the frog has 5 stages of
metamorphosis, from living in water to living on
land. Being able to live in two worlds makes frogs a
type of amphibian animal.
frog life cycle schematic
1.eggs
The frog's life cycle begins with the egg. At this stage, the frog can lay up to
4,000 eggs. The frog releases the eggs in the water. Later the eggs will float on
the water in the form of lumps, but some are attached to aquatic plants or
even sink to the bottom of the water. The frog eggs will hatch within one to
three weeks.
2. Hatching into tadpoles
Frog eggs will hatch into tadpoles or commonly called tadpoles. Tadpoles will look
like small fish rather than frogs. Because, he has a tail that resembles the body of a
fish.
Like fish, tadpoles also breathe with gills. So, the tadpole will swim to and fro
comfortably in the water. Tadpoles will continue to live and grow in the water by
eating aquatic algae.
3.Frog kid

The tadpole will continue to grow and eventually turn into a baby frog. At first,
the gills will be closed slowly because the entire body of the tadpole will grow
strong skin and turn it into a baby frog.
When it becomes a frog child, it will breathe using the lungs. Not only the
respiratory system has changed, but the shape of the body has also changed. Frogs
begin to show legs on the back that can be used to jump
4. Young frog

The baby frog continues to grow until he becomes a young frog. In the young frog
stage, it grows and has legs on the front. This stage makes the frog have 4 legs. Its
physical form has resembled an adult frog. However, what makes the difference is that
young frogs still have tadpole tails. But the tail is getting shorter and shorter. At this
stage of the young frogs too, for the first time they jumped out of the water and touched
dry ground.
5. Adult frogs

From a young frog to an adult frog takes 2-4 years. When the frog has
become an adult, it has no tail at all. He began to move freely without a tail.
In addition, he also changed his diet. When they are adults, frogs will eat
insects. It no longer eats aquatic algae. Adult frogs will lay eggs again to
continue the frog's life cycle.
