Introduction
At the end of 2019, indonesian and the world were surprised by the emergence of a new type
of virus outbreak (Novel Corona Virus or nCoV), also known as COVID-19. As of February 11,
2020 there were 44,885 cases of virus infection and the number of people dying reached
1,114 people, 2 of which occurred in Asia
The government made social distancing policy as the first step to prevent transmission of the
virus.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses were overwhelmed to deal with sick patients and
patients who were positively affected by the COVID-19 virus. Especially in sick patients with
infusion needs in COVID-19 positive patients, which is not controlled due to the large number
of patients.
In the world of medicine and nursing, infusions are the most widely used tool, which is about
90% of patients in hospitals receive various treatments through infusions.
New technology is needed for the infusion monitoring and controlling system. 3

Problem Limitation
Fluid Infusion RL 500 mL
Makro drip infusion set 20drops /mL
Arduino Uno
Node MCU ESP8266
Photodiode sensor (drip detection)
Photogate sensor (Blood detection)
LCD 2.4 “ as display monitoring
Blynk as application for monitoring and controlling
Buzzer for warning indication
5
Objectives
Designing infusion fluid control and monitoring system through control display and
blynk application
Create and design infusion fluid drip detection system
Create and design a blood detection system up to the infusion hose

Relevant Research
Prototype Simple Blood Flow Monitoring Tool Rose to the Infusion Hose, it was
concluded that the tool made can read the condition of infusion fluid (Msy Hartina
Ulfa and Sigit Purwanto, 2019)
Design Build Automatic Drip Discharge Control Device for Infusion Therapy Process
obtained results that in stable condition, dose error that occurs a maximum of only 4
drops / minute (Galang Prihadi Mahardhika and Mutiara Herawati, 2015)
Deteksi Cairan Infus Melalui SMS berbasis Mikrokontroller Arduino, disimpulkan
bahwa waktu pengiriman sms ke perawat dengan kesalahan 3 % dari waktu
pengiriman sms dari modul gsm yang diprogram pada SIM800L ke handphone
operator selama 8 detik (Risnawaty Alyah, 2017)
