INTRODUCTION
Every year, after F.Sc. exams, pre-medical students appear in tests. MDCAT is conducted
approximately after 3-4 months of F.Sc. examination. MDCAT 2023 will be conducted on the 27th
of August. the final date is announced. MDCAT Is Mandatory for admission to Medical and dental
colleges in Pakistan.

Universities Will Conduct tests across the country. The same Question Paper is for all Candidates
across Province. For Punjab, Uhs is conducting body. For Sindh, Dow University of Health Sciences
will conduct the test.

MDCAT is a competitive exam for the selection of future doctors in Pakistan. Around 200,000
students from all over Pakistan appear in this test. Fresh candidates, as well as a large number of
repeaters, appear in the test so that they can get into medical college by acing this exam..

 Eligibility Criteria

•Any person (Pakistani/Overseas Pakistani/Foreign National) shall be eligible to register for and attempt the
MDCAT examination.
•FSC/HSSC/A level result/degree IS NOT required for MDCAT registration.
•A candidate is permitted to take the MDCAT exam only once in each calendar year.

Passing criteria
•65% (130 out of 200) for admission into Medical Colleges
•55% (110 out of 200) for admission into Dental Colleges.

Time Duration

For which fields MDCAT is necessary?

As per the regulations of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), Medical/Dental colleges admission tests (MDCAT)
are mandatory for students applying to MBBS and BDS programs in both public and private institutions.

Some important points about the syllabus:

•MDCAT Syllabus 2023 has been created on the singular principle that no topic is outside any of the existing
recognized syllabus. It has been reviewed by a committee of provincial universities and IBCC.

•The question bank for the MDCAT Paper is also based on the singular principle that no the question appears
which is outside any of the existing recognized syllabi of F.Sc. in Pakistan.

•If any question appears in the paper which is outside of any syllabus, it shall be removed from scoring by the
Examination Paper Review Committee immediately for all students.

•Students appearing in the PMDC MDCAT exam will be provided an objection form at the examination center in
which they can record any objection to any question they believe is outside the syllabus of the relevant Board.

•All objections will be reviewed immediately after completion of the MDCAT exam on 15th November and any
question found to be outside the identified syllabus shall be removed from the scoring.

•All objections being communicated regarding any topics at this time are also being constantly reviewed by the
relevant committee finalizing the question bank for the paper.
