1985 Mexico Earthquake
 The earthquake on Thursday, September
19, 1985, known as the 1985 Mexico
earthquake, affected in the central,
southern and western Mexico and has
been the most significant and deadly of
the written history of that country. Federal
District, the nation's capital, was the worst
affected. It is worth mentioning that the
replica of Friday September 20, 1985 also
had a big impact for the City of Mexico.
 Seismological phenomenon arose at
7:19 am Central Time with a
magnitude of 8.1 degrees on the
Richter scale, approximate duration
was just over two minutes,
exceeding in intensity and damage to
the earthquake on July 28, 1957 also
in Mexico City.
Origin and epicenter

 Reaching Central Time Mexico City at 7:19 a.m.

with a magnitude of 8.1 degrees according to the
Richter scale. was an earthquake trepidatorio and
oscillatory type at a time and recorded a depth of
15.0 km. The breakdown or failure that caused
the quake was located the so-called gap of
Michoacán, known for its remarkable and, so far,
lack of seismic activity. It has been determined
that the quake was caused by the phenomenon of
subduction of the Cocos Plate beneath the North
American Plate.
One of several findings in relation to the energy
released in the movement was equivalent to
1114 atomic bombs of 20 kilotons each.
Effects and consequences
 It was never known the exact number of casualties due to
the censorship imposed by the government of Miguel de la
Madrid. International aid was rejected at first by the
president, or even know that a plane with humanitarian aid
International Caritas overflying the airspace of the
International Airport of Mexico City because he was not
given permission to land. By order of the first lady, the
international aid plane and made it into the city to support
Mexican rescue teams, given the magnitude of the disaster,
at that time could not cope. After this incident was that the
Federal Government decided to accept international
assistance to see exceeded its response capability to such a
catastrophe. Years later he made the following findings in
this regard:
     * Deaths: the government reported the
deaths of between 6.000 and 7.000
people. However, years after the opening
of information from various government
sources, the registration was estimated at
about 10,000 dead. The ballpark Social
Security was used to accommodate and
recognize bodies. Ice was used to delay
the decomposition of bodies.
Origins of the disaster
 All the buildings had collapsed structures unsuitable for
clay soils, mainly because of corruption and poor planning,
as most of collapsed buildings were recently built. The
government negligence was the main culprit of the huge
death toll. very old structures and appropriate to the type
of clay soil, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral in Mexico
City, the National Palace and National Building Mount
Piedad withstood the quake to have thick walls of stone
and brick. Although the surveys showed that most of the
buildings had fallen below the required specifications in
contracts, no one was convicted. Particularly serious was
the case of state construction charge of the construction of
schools, whose leaders went unpunished, despite the large
number of elementary school destroyed and killed. The
most affected areas were mainly schools and hospitals,
buildings and hotels also had recently finished building.
On September 19, 1985
 On September 19, 1985 I joined to go to college, the ENEP
Acatlán in Naucalpan, where he studied journalism and
mass communication.
At 7.19 am my mother began to tell us that he was
shaking. I got to my room and went to her and my sisters
still not going to school too. The calmed down and I never
imagined that the earthquake had been stronger.
I went down to the ground floor to see if my other family
members were safe. We shared a great big family house
with the individuality of each person.
After 10 minutes I began to hear the sirens of ambulances
and patrol cars on the road running Vallejo, north of the big
city: "Earthquake of 8.1 magnitude on the Richter scale."
 Hulule That was not going to stop listening all day
and into the night, until someone gave the order
that the sirens are asilenciaran because they
caused more panic among the people.
When I got the car turned on the radio and even
then I realized the magnitude of the quake.
The Regis Hotel Avenida Juarez had collapsed like
one of the buildings of Tlatelolco and hundreds of
houses in the Historic Center and South of Rome.
Cuitlahuac the avenue was no light and the lights
were not working. The chaos was just beginning.
The trolley did not work and people began to ask
"raid." I took it to the people who called me
saying he was going to ride Shrimp. At the
roundabout, they got some, but others rose.
