The purpose of this presentation is to
introduce executives of auto coys to the
salient provisions of the MV Act.

a motor veh to which a semi trailer is
attached.

Section 2 (39)
“Semi-trailer” means a veh not mechanically
propelled (other than a trailer), which is
intended to be connected to a motor veh and
which is so constructed that a portion of it is
superimposed on, and a part of whose weight is
borne by, that motor veh.

General provision regarding construction
and maintenance of vehs.

(1)Every motor veh shall be so constructed
and so maintained as to be at all times under
the effective control of the person driving the
veh.
(2)Every motor veh shall be so constructed
as to have right hand steering control unless
it is equipped with a mechanical or electrical
signalling device of a prescribed nature.
[(3)If the Central Government is of the
opinion that it is necessary or expedient
so to do in public interest, it may by order
published in the Official Gazette, notify that
any article or process used by a
manufacturer shall conform to such
standard as may be specified in that order.]

require framing of elaborate
