A complete sentence in English has three main components:

Subject
Verb
Object

Subject: Pronoun (I, he, you..), Noun (Ahmed, dog, pen..)


Verb: action (do, eat..), state (feel, love..)
Object: Noun, Adjective (happy, cold)
For example:

1)My cat has beautiful eyes.

Subject: my cat
o Adjective (my)
o Noun (cat)

Verb: has

Object: beautiful eyes


o Adjective (beautiful)
o Noun (eyes)
Hold on a second!

My cat has beautiful eyes.


What does this sentence mean?

Put simply, my cat has beautiful eyes means that I possess a cat and that cat
possesses beautiful eyes

So, this means that the adjective (my) and the verb (has) express possession?

Absolutely yes!

I have a lot of friends, but my best friend is Jack. He is 19 years old. He


has two brothers. They are John and Sarah. John is 13 years old, and
Sarah is 15 years old. They have different interests, and their dreams are
Simple. John wants to be a singer. He has a great talent, and his voice is
magical. Sarah wants to be a vet. She has a cat and a dog at home. Her
cat is called Ketty. It has blue eyes, and its body is hairy. John and I are
unlucky. We have an allergy to cats. Our skin is sensitive to animals. If
you have an allergy to animals, your body may be infected by
dangerous diseases. Be careful!

 Examples:

 My car is very old.


 Her cousin is very friendly. He has a good heart.
 Our dog is black.
 Their homework is on the table. They have two exercises to do.
 Note!
Its vs. It's
 Be careful not to confuse its and it's.
 Its = The possessive adjective for It.
 It's = a contraction of it is.
For example:
 Its = This is my cat. Its name is Sunny?
 It's = It’s my pen. (It is my pen)
