COURSE OBJECTIVES

On completion of the course, students should be


able to:
- understand the basic concepts of
morphology, such as:
- morphemes (bases, affixes),
- word classification,
- processes of word formation,
- word classes
- analyze the language in terms of words.

BRIEF COURSE CONTENT

• There are 7 chapters.


• Each chapter highlights in-depth contents of
Morphemes, Immediate Constituents,
Allomorphs, Word classification, Processes of
Word Formation, Form Classes and Structure
Classes.

STUDENTS’ TASKS
Students are required to
•attend at least 80% of the classes.
•be serious in class meetings.
•actively perform the in-class tasks during contact
hours.
•actively involve in class activities, such as answering
questions and discussing in groups.
•have read in advance the chapters in the required and
recommended textbooks, and other readings to
improve their knowledge.
•do and submit homework on time;
