What is freehand design

Freehand design is the process of designing ideas by

hand. The goal with freehand design is to get your
ideas out on the page. It doesn’t have to be pretty as
long as people understand what you’re trying to say.
Sketch Ideas Quickly

You need just three things to get started:

1)your hand,
2) a drawing tool, and
3) something to draw on.
Process and evaluate your ideas

Once you get those thoughts out on paper, your ideas

are transformed from the abstract to the concrete. This
makes it easier to spot potential roadblocks before
you prototype whatever you’re designing..
Free hand vs. digital design

freehand design and digital design complement each

other.

Let’s say that the design process is a relay race. As a

designer, you’re always tweaking how you get from
point A (the beginning of a project) to point B (the final
product). Freehand design is the early part of the race,
setting you up for success in the end. You brainstorm
and map out solutions using freehand design; then you
execute the chosen solutions using digital design.
Free hand Sketching and Drawing

Is made without the use of any drawing

instruments or straight-edged objects except
pencil and drawing paper. An individual may
communicate and convey his ideas more
effectively by means of freehand sketches or
drawings. One may also find it better to organize
his thoughts and record such ideas by means of
freehand drawing.
LINE SKETCHING

 a skill in drawing the various types of

lines in freehand. A line refers to the
shortest distance between two points. It
has no breadth but has length. Lines may
be straight or curved. They may be
horizontal, vertical, parallel, or
perpendicular.
Sketching a Horizontal Line

A line parallel to the lower edge of the

drawing is called horizontal line. It is
sketches with a free arm movement in
single stroke. It is drawn from left to
right;
Sketching a Vertical Line
A line perpendicular to the plane of the
horizon usually 90° he distances a vertical
line. It is sketched from top to bottom. To
sketch a vertical line, it is necessary to
examine first the distance between two
points in order to keep the line straight.
Sketching a Inclined Line
 A line neither horizontal nor vertical is
inclined. It is generally sketched from left
to right
Sketching an Arc and a Circle

A circle is a plane figure bounded by a

circumference, all the points of which are
equidistant from the center.

A circle is the most difficult shape to
