Product Description

WoO 26 1. Allegro con brio 2. Minuetto quasi Allegretto & Trio

Beethoven composed the Duo for two flutes in G major on August 23, 1792. The work is dedicated to "friend Degenharth," a lawyer who was part of Beethoven's close circle of friends. The piece was not published during Beethoven's lifetime, but the autograph has survived. J. M. Degenhart eventually published the work.

Although WoO 26 is not as well-known as some of Beethoven's other works, it is an integral part of his compositional output. It showcases his ability to create beautiful, intertwined melodies. Beethoven's WoO 26 is a charming and delightful duo composed in 1792 and dedicated to a close friend. Despite not being published during the composer's lifetime, the work has survived and offers valuable insights into Beethoven's compositional style.
