Global FC banked on strong second half to wallop Pachanga-Diliman, 4-0, on Tuesday night and cement its place atop the standings of the United Football League at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.

Izzo El-Habbib fired a brace, Jeff Christiaens scored for the second straight game, while Carlos Guisso also contributed a goal for the defending champions as they remained unbeaten in five games for 15 points with a goal difference of +17.

Pachanga, in its maiden Division 1 campaign, dropped to 2-3 (win-loss), but remained in fifth place with six points.

Scoreless in the first half after drawing a tough challenge from the 2012 Division 2 champions, Global finally unlocked the Pachanga defense when the Sudanese El-Habbib, still recovering from a left knee injury he suffered last year, found the back of the net five minutes after the restart.

The Filipino-Belgian Christiaens, who scored a brace against Army last week, struck 13 minutes later as he converted a right-wing free kick that was awarded after a foul by Ariel Zerrudo on Carli de Murga.

Christiaens had his imprint on another play as his corner kick in the 70th minute led to a goal from Guisso.

El-Habbib then completed his second brace this season when he struck 10 minutes later to complete the rout against an undermanned Pachanga side that went down to nine men after OJ Clarino suffered an injury and ‘keeper Versales was sent off after getting a red card for tackling Denis Wolf.

“It’s good to see everybody chipping in with goals because it proves how creative we are and we are getting men forward and in the box to create chances,” Global’s Scottish coach Brian Reid said.
