  • Flats can be denoted by a "b" or spelled out.
    For example, A♭ = Ab = A f = A flat = A-flat.
    Sharps can be denoted by a pound sign or "s" or spelled out.
    For example, C♯ = C# = Cs = C sharp = C-sharp.
    Remember that the lines are EGBDF in ascending order while the spaces are FACE from the bottom up.
