Controversy

On June 29th, 2020, a smasher by the name of deerBride published a tweet speaking out against two smashers, CruzControl and Alois. deerBride alleged that after being sexually manipulated by Alois and being cut off from contact, deerBride would meet CruzControl through Netplay and strike up a friendship. Eventually, deerBride alleges that CruzControl used his status as a CFL player to manipulate him, leading to the two getting close and sleeping together while deerBride was only 15 years old. deerBride also alleges that in a carpool to a Melee tournament, CruzControl made inappropriate grabbing gestures towards him. As a result of their misconduct, and the lack of response to the allegations, Polarity Esports indefinitely banned CruzControl and Alois from future tournaments ran by Polarity.
