Be careful[edit]
In future, please don't edit vandalised articles unless you are actually going to revert them, as it caused me to miss this one when I was Rollbacking the vandal's attack. Because rollback works by undoing all of the last user's edits at a single click, if someone else edits the page before rollback is used, then the rollback link won't appear next to the vandal anymore, and this prevents it from working.
Next time you see a vandalised article, follow the procedures detailed here. It's mainly for rollbackers like myself, but other users can still use it to learn how to revert edits.
Specifically:
- How reverting a vandal works:
- Without rollback rights:
- Open the history of a vandalized page and wait for history to load
- find the most recent version before the vandal's edit and go to that version and wait for page to load
- hit edit at that version and wait for page to load
- hit save, then move on to do something else in a different window/tab
Alternately, on every diff page (such as the one I linked at the start of this post), as well as every history page, there is an undo link beside the details of each edit. On diff pages, this will appear on the right.
Finally, if you're interested in protecting SmashWiki from vandals, you can apply for rollback powers here. Keep in mind however, that you must pass certain requirements to pass - specifically, you must have at least three instances of reverting vandalism.
