Miyu (Japanese: ミュウ Miyu) is a tomboyish female cat (likely a lynx or caracal) who appears in Star Fox 2. Along with Fay, she pilots a faster Arwing model called the Interceptor, which lacks in hull armor compared to the other Arwing models. During the game, she assisted the pilots in fighting Andross.

Her name is based on the onomatopoeia "mew", which is a variant of "meow", the sound made by a cat.

Appearance

Miyu is a brown cat with tall pointed ears. She has black patterns on her fur, along with a creamy white underbelly (pure white in-game). She also has light blue eyes. She wears a uniform very similar to the one worn by the rest of the Star Fox members in Star Fox 2, albeit hers is purple, and she has a cyan scarf. She also wears a pair of fuchsia gloves. In her in-game sprites, she wears the same, except her shirt and scarf are both red, and her gloves are white. Additionally, she is also depicted as wearing a single gold earring at the base of her left ear, but this absent from her official artwork, instead only appearing in her in-game sprites.

Miyu's specific species has never been confirmed, but she is commonly assumed to be a wildcat by fans. Most often she has been assumed to be a Lynx, but she also bears resemblance to Caracals, and even Maine Coons (the latter of which are domesticated cats, not wild).
